You ever stop and think about your diet?

I’m not just talking about what you eat or exercising.

I’m talking about what you FEED YOUR SOUL.

Be mindful of what you watch, listen to and read on social media. Unplug it for a while and go truly live.

Pay close attention to the people around you. Are they healthy for you? Do they make you want to learn, grow and achieve? Do they encourage you to climb your mountains? Are they there to cheer you on, hold your hand when needed and celebrate with you at the finish line?

When you get “you time” do you spend it wisely? Reading a book you love? Enjoying a walk in nature? Gardening? Hanging with your horse? A relaxing trail ride?

Grow. Relax. Enjoy.

Don’t forget to be mindful of what you put into your body…mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically.

Take care of your soul, it has a profound impact on everything else in your life.

There's a little bit of a story behind this photo.

Lately in my videos I have been talking a lot about only asking yes questions, that is only asking questions that:

a) The horse knows the answer to.
b) Doesn't know the answer to but has the education to know how to search for answers and ability to be able to figure it out (this is a big part of training a horse to do things he doesn't yet know how to do).
C) The horse knows the answer to AND is capable of doing it in his current emotional state (this is a common one I see where the horse knows how to do something, but is not in a good enough emotional state at that moment to do it, and get's punished for not doing it).

Asking questions the horse doesn't know the answer to, then delivering a repercussion for not doing it, is a very common way people have their horses lose trust in them. This loss of trust makes the next request less likely to happen, and then it just becomes a downward spiral of negative feeling about being asked to do anything.

On the day this photo was taken, I has a Grand Prix dressage rider visiting for a few days, and I was helping her with some issues she was having with a young imported warmblood stallion. After I had helped her, we got Bundy and Petey (pictured) out and she was showing me some exercises I could do with them, and I was showing her some of the things they could do.

Petey and I ended up bridle-less and saddle-less, which I have done before I had ridden him around that way, I had done flying lead changes like that, I had done spins like that, but I had never run him and done a sliding stop like that.

I had stopped him without using the reins (all reiners can do this), I had ridden him ba****ck, I can ride ba****ck, and I had ridden him bridle-less So he and I can do all the parts individually.

I said to the dressage rider "I've never tried this before, lets see what happens", I then said to my son Tyler "Grab the camera, this might make a good picture" I then ran and stopped Petey, and the resulting photo captures the first time I ever tried a bridle-less ba****ck sliding stop

It looks like something very hard to do, and is a pretty cool image, but worked perfectly the first time I asked because he knew all the parts, and I just had to put them together.

So very sad, and so true. Surrounding ourselves with the people that lift us in a professional environment and or friend base or even family is the most important. We have only one shot at this life be your own gate keeper.

I haven’t stopped thinking about my beautiful student who took her own life last week. This cloud of sadness has been looming over me for days. I’m so sad for her, her family, friends and all who knew her…what in inspirational light she was!

I’ve heard more and more about other veterinarians and horse trainers who have taken their own lives after my post went viral (35k, as of last night.) I can’t really speak from a veterinarian’s perspective, but I certainly have a word for most other professionals in the horse industry.

People who are horrible to you are NOT worth your life. It is only a reflection of their own shortcomings, problems, drama, baggage or insecurities. But man, it is so so hard to remember that when you’re inconveniently in the perfect position to be the punching bag.

I used to be there. I was that horse trainer. People were horrible to me. I was miserable. I wanted to help everyone, so I played the roll of that proverbial punching bag for a long time. One client at a time. I can say that those feelings of misery honestly didn’t leave me until the last few months. I wanted out, desperately. For the first time in years, I don’t feel that way anymore. I don’t have those kinds of clients anymore. Here’s why…

The best advice I can give you - stop selling cheap seats. Figuratively and financially. Get rid of those seats in your life and your business. There are 7 BILLION people on Earth and plenty who will see your worth, respect you and love you. Don’t waste a second thought on those who don’t value you.

Stop selling cheap seats and the toxic people will never show their face.

Stop selling cheap seats and you won’t have to work yourself into the ground.

Stop selling cheap seats and you will attract a different level of client, friend, etc.

Stop selling cheap seats and those who are not meant for you will get uncomfortable and see themselves out.

Stop selling cheap seats and you will enjoy your work.

Stop selling cheap seats and you will enjoy your clients because THEY are your tribe.

Raise your standards. Raise your vibration. Raise your prices.

The rest will fall into place, I promise.

You are more than enough.

The “1% rule,” to me, represents hope. Here’s how the math works: If I can get 1% better each day for one year, I’ll end up 37 times better by the end of the year. It’s an exponential growth curve. I love this rule. It gets me through th...

Great morning❤️

And so it begins, my first ride today today On Biggs.
I’ve brought a lot of young horses along in my career of riding but this one is so much sweeter at this time of life.
I thought I would never step on another horses back again never mind a young c**t, however with the right help I can see the path.
So Grateful to saying yes to opportunities and inviting back a love for something that spurs me on and enhances my life in such a positive way
