Dear friend donor, you've been there all the time since I've steadied my feet on this path of stray animal service. Thank you for your thoughtful contribution once more. Mahirah's functioning is powered by grand humans like you, that keep the wheels of this service running day to day and month to month. Your support means that we can keep our doors 😺 👐open, feed animals in need, offer crucial vet care and pay up our 💸💵 pending bills. You bring much independence in operations, confidence, joy and hope to the recipients of the shelter and the larger feeding body stationed at different points. You help maintain a healthier ❤️‍🩹 and safer environment through your financial assistance, as we provide the best possible options to the animals in our care.

Rescue does not mean damaged. Means the little babies have been let down 👎👇 by humans. It's a crushing feeling to deal almost daily with matted, sore, limping, depressed lonely 🥺😭 animals afraid of love. They are so hesitant and wary of our loving hands since till all the yesterdays in their diary, they didn't have one. We are able to give them their well deserved, truly earned world of 💕 love. Each life matters and is to be honoured. Thank you. You assist us in our mission.

Thank you for in our forward march we continue to be defenders of the weak. You connect me to people who see beyond the sphere of their personal world and embrace all living beings. The reason why we at Mahirah dedicate ourselves to helping animals so much is because there are already so many dedicated to hurting them.

See how your contribution got utilized. 🪷 😊 🪷We got supplies, rations for the sevadaars, cleared bills and bought a big wooden box for keeping blankets, mattresses and cat food for the visiting cats near us. Harsh Sen Maurya Veterinary hospital Dr.maurya have been our constant companions this month too.

Baby angel your wings may be ready but our heart 💔 isn't! See that little pup undergoing treatment. It's a case of neglect resulting in likely canine distemper. इस मासूम जर्मन शेफर्ड को शेल्टर की हमारी दीदी रेखा वर्मा जी ने एक निर्दयी इन्सान की गिरफ्त से आज़ाद किया है। स्टेट्स सिंबल के लिए इन महाशय ने इस खूबसूरत नन्हे बच्चे को जल्दीबाज़ी में अपना लिया था। जनाब ने बस नाम का बसेरा ही दिया था, क्योंकि इस नन्ही जान के बीमार होते ही इसे दुत्कार दिया, और इसे पीड़ित हालत में अपने घर के एक कोने में धकेल दिया। इस केस की जानकारी जैसे ही हमें मिली, बिना वक्त ज़ाया किए हमारी रेखा दीदी इसे छुड़ा के शेल्टर ले आई। उस दरिंदे, यानी इस बच्चे के पूर्व मालिक से हमारा अब कोई सरोकार नहीं। तब से दीदी इसकी दिन रात सेवा कर रही है। शेल्टर के बाकी बच्चों से इसे अलग रखा गया है। इस नन्हे फ़रिश्ते को हर तरह की सुविधा देने की कोशिश की गई है। आप दुआ करे ये बच जाए। सुबह शाम इसे ड्रिप चढ़ती है, वेट प्लस वेटनरी हॉस्पिटल के डॉ मनोज मौर्य द्वारा। अनिल मौर्य जी उनके भाई ने इसके ट्रीटमेंट एवं रिव्यू की पूरी जिम्मेदारी ली है। इसकी यूरीन एवं ब्लड टेस्ट रिपोर्टस स्पेशलिस्ट्स के पास भेजे गए हैं और उनके रिजल्ट्स का इंतजार है। रूह काँप जाती है, लोगों को इतना गैर ज़िम्मेदार देख कर।डॉ साहब पूरी कोशिश कर रहे हैं इसकी जान बचाने की।

We hurt and we keep going. Rekha di is a mother like no other. She picks up these angels from the streets and from undeserving homes. She feeds them, pets them, fights for them and gives them all the love they've not known thus far. She's a mother like no other. There is nothing like a mother's love. She hugs them a little tighter, tells them she loves them a little louder, and stays by their side a little longer. Rekha di always gives her foster pets food, shelter and love. She's a big part of their incredible journey while honouring their compelling stories. She surely brings a change in the world 🌎 🌍 around her. She picks them up all skin and bones, dehydrated and near death. She nurses them back to life till they snuggle at her feet. These rescues prove to be fighters and continue to get stronger every day. And why not! She's right by their side.

Jerry has been spayed. My heart ❤️💜 is full of gratitude for our shelter baby has had her procedure done at the hands of the best veterinary doctor 💊 of Haldwani, Dr. Manoj Maurya of Vet Plus Veterinary Hospital. Special thanks to Anil Maurya his brother and confidante, who is the administrator there and who has taken care of all fine details. Jerry baby is recovering. She has her follow up appointments for being injected for pain control and 'daily dressing' to prevent her sutures from infection. Right now our feline baby is indoors in a quiet location where she's healing. She's put on a recovery collar that extends past her nose and is snug at her neck. Ah! The tender looks she's giving, now up and about from the grogginess of anaesthesia. Baby 🐥 we love you. Jerry Kitty you'll gradually return to your normal self. Anil Maurya 🤗 🐈 Maurya R. Our animal care giver Ajay Dhoni was confronted by a distressing sight, one evening on his way to work. He saw an injured bull calf abandoned by the owners. The poor creature was incapable of movement. His stomach was tight, evidently he couldn't pass stool. Ajay Dhoni took remedial action and rallied for support. He rounded up his workers and had the suffering creature transported to a 'known' Gaushala. We are optimistic that the poor being is on his way to recovery, in the safe haven of specialized care. Love of animals is a universal impulse, a common ground on which all of us may meet.

Thank you Dhoni for treating each hurt animal as a valued citizen of the earth. Humanity's true moral evaluation, its fundamental test…consists of its attitude towards those who are at its mercy: animals. You score very well.

मेरे अज़ीज़ दोस्तों. शुक्रिया. आप की वजह से Mahirah चल रहा है. आप की भागीदारी अहम है. अब ये काफिला रुकेगा नहीं क्योंकि आप के कदम मजबूत हैं. आप नहीं होते तो मेरे मासूम बच्चे भूखे रहते या समझौते वाला हल्का खाना खाते.
धरती को जन्नत बनाना है अगर. हर शख़्स पहले खुद में इंसान ढूँढे.

ये कायनात भी बेखबर नहीं हमारे रिश्ते से. चाँद के बिना चाँदनी को नींद रास नहीं आती.
Mahirah की छोटी सी दुनिया एक विशाल रूप ले लेती है, सबके मिले जुले हौसलों की नई कहानी कहती है... क्योंकी आप का सहारा है मुझे.

जिस जगह से चला है,
कभी न कभी वहाँ ज़रूर लौटकर आता है।

You have been there for me. I feel blessed.My dear one, my sister my friend, the fragrance that floats to me this morning; streams from the tent ⛺ of the abundance of God. There's joy in walking 🚶 quietly through these days, feeling life gently wrap around you. Each morning ❤🌞is a new beginning as grace pours in with the welcome golden winter light. Why do I feel this way? That's because I have you my precious one ... Someone that assists me readily and defends me courageously... And despite being continents away/ seven seas across... Continues to be in my life unchangeably. This deep lasting connection is the blood 🩸pumped by my heart to the soul, come rainclouds, eclipses, tsunamis or thunders ⚡. This love ❤ that we've shared, 'built' and felt is constant.

Thank you for your outstretched hand that helped me in my winter endeavours for the strays and shelter animals. So true---It’s not what we have, but who we have. That's the spiritual inspiration that comes out of having a supporter like you.

We all know how reassuring it feels to curl up in a familiar blanket when times get tough. Same goes for the injured, ill, indisposed frightened dogs that we move to an unfamiliar shelter environment. Bedding, mattresses and blankets out of your donation provide the much-needed comfort and warmth, while also smelling like home to our snuggly critters. Thanks ❤🌹 to your cosy fleece they are more relaxed, social, entertaining 😎🎭, fun and approachable. Ah! The plush and comforting light-weight feel as they gather in their beds. 🛌 Thank you for ensuring ❤🤗their wonderfully soothing sleeping spaces.
Your wifi of love is with these fur babies accessible. 'Kindness' is the password. In this act of service you've loaned me your strength. I feel a complete sense of fulfilment. Proud to say I'm a part of your life. Our shelter workers thank you from the bottom of their hearts for the snug environment you've provided to the fur angels, i.e. place to sleep off the floor and away from drafty areas. Also achy joint old fur companions of ours are now very comfortable.

I have something more to say. Harsh winter weather brings a wide variety of concerns to responsible care givers of these four legged babies. Bitter cold, numbing wetness or biting winds can cause discomfort for all those that we take care of in the shelter and out on the streets. Thanks to your support, we are feeding them. We are trying to do better today than we did yesterday.

I trust Him and the bigger plan. I give thanks even when I don't see 'the gifts' 🎁easily because ...I believe He is making beauty in places my eyes will soon get to see.

It's good to leave each day behind like flowing water, free of sadness. Yesterday is gone and it's a tale told. Today new seeds 🌰 are growing... Rumi.

जब मेरी प्यारी सहेलियाँ या यूं कहिये छोटी बहनें मेरा साथ दें, तो इससे ज़्यादा खुशनसीबी क्या हो सकती है? सारे ज़माने का प्यार लिए एक गुलाबी शाम, मुझसे मिलने आयीं और चुपचाप से दो लिफ़ाफे मेरे हाथों में थमा दिये। दीदी ये आपके जानवरों के लिए हैं, हमारी तरफ़ से स्वीकार करें। बहुत प्रेम से ब्रह्मांड भर की अमीरी अपने प्यार के खाते से मुझे सौंप गईं। इन प्यारी सखियों की मदद से Mahirah का एक बार फ़िर काफिला चला, पशु सेवा व्यवस्थित तरीके से हुई। Thank ❤🌹 you my soul friends. मेरी दुनिया की बगिया और माली खुद ही बनके आईं, और सब कुछ गुलज़ार कर दिया। ये मिसाल हैं प्रेम
और सेवा की ताक़त की।

मेरी ये सहेलियाँ खास हैं, बहुत ख़ास। दिन की रोशनी में सपने सच बनाती हैं। रात को बच्चों को पढ़ा, खिला के दूसरे दिन का सूरज देखने के लिए पीठ थपका के; बाल प्यार से सहला के सुलाती हैं। सारी जिंदगी अपने घर के रिश्तों को संभाल के उन अनमोल घरों को सजाती हैं, जहाँ से वे देवी के रूप में आती हैं। इनमे आग है, धीरज है और सहनशीलता भी है। ये संसार को अगरबत्ती की तरह महकाती हैं।

किस्मत वालों को मिलती है ऐसी मोहब्बत जो वक़्त दे, प्यार दे और ख़्याल भी रखे। तुम दोनों मुझे बेहद अज़ीज़ हो... याद रखना। ❤❤❤❤❤ # बहना

We run a shelter at Rekha Verma Ji's home to promote humane behaviour towards street cats 🐱and dogs 🐶🐕subjected to cruelty, abuse, sharp injury and episodes of horrendous neglect and abandonment. We're a sort of first foster in that sense. We have pregnant cats, kittens with unopened eyes, and helpless puppies 🐶that find home space in our personal care. Those dependent fur kids that we sadly cannot accommodate; we try to gently hand over to caring folks for the much needed domestic cover and safekeeping.

Food is the costliest spending without doubt. So there are times that we solicit your help. 'If you're out shopping for your loved ones, please think of us and grab a few bags of food for our paw 🐾precious friends.'
Cat litters and dog 🐕🐶chews enrich our supplies all the time. We are hoping to make introductions with well meaning individuals representing pet food brands, pet supply stores that would enable us to purchase our shelter items at discounted rates.

We have a lot of animals on hand to feed, the multiple strays on the roads, those found in the school fields and outside our houses. Some mongrels eat more than others. That's the way they are. There's always an uptick in area wise feeding intake. We continue to be at capacity as animals keep coming in with nowhere else to go.
Our wish list of food bags, gift to donation boxes, wet and dry food, cleaning supplies and medicines is permanent. We long for these always, always and always.

For strays, we realize that the most common cause of starvation is simply being born. Sometimes we are unable to eat ourselves, witnessing dead puppies rotting under piles of their living sibling. Other times we feed dogs that look 🐶🐕like walking skeletons; scampering on despite their malnourishment and bruises, yet very-very determined to wag their tails. There's no time to process these trauma stories. They fill up our hearts ❤💞and our insides bleed. As I read somewhere 'sometimes the only thing we can offer is to save one life, take home one cat or dog in the face of a tidal wave.'
Rekha di has an expertise in stray homing. She specialise in disabled or elderly pets and gives them due honour in her honest 'till end of life' support.

She needs you ❤ all the time. She chooses to give her adopted babies, and the babies we send her; a normal family life instead of just putting them in kennels and catteries.

Thank ❤🌹 you all my wonderful friends for listening to our distress call and ramping up our supplies. All in one day! You do listen! I'll be thanking each one of you personally. 😊

Mahirah - The Skilled One - 🇮🇳 wishes one and all a very happy independence day. Our 78th. The occasion was marked by our Bhowali Mahirah Centre Administrator Mrs. Beena Pande's visit. She felicitated our Gau Raksha Dal workers and inspired them to keep up the good work. Independence Day celebrations in our society too were very impressive. Bharat Mata ki Jai!
