We couldn’t have asked for a nicer day today for the VJP. Arcann v. Quarry Grove had a wonderful test day scoring a 73. He received an 11 in both cooperation and use of nose.

Maggie (Anna v. Quarry Grove) has had quite a week - a limit on pheasants, her first deer track with a completely washed out blood trail, points on wild quail and finding an injured fawn. Wishing everyone a week as good as Maggie’s! Thank you Patrick Pennington!

I love updates from our A litter pups. We have had such great feedback. Pups turned 6 months old this week. Scarlet (Aspen v. Quarry Grove) went on her first real blood track today. The deer was gut shot at 4:30 pm yesterday. They started track at 7:30 am this morning. The track was 15 hours old barely any blood. Found it 200 yards in the thicket.

We had an extra spot reserved in for a Natural Abilities test this weekend. Because our Bracco earned a a Prize 1 last weekend, we decided to run Arcann for the fun of it. At just under 4 months old he scored 94 points, earned a Prize 3, and got some really great experience in the field today. We are exceptionally proud of him.

We have a water dog! We finally coaxed Arcann into the water this evening and now he’s swimming.

We received an update on “Aspen” Aris v. Quarry Grove last night. This pup was hard for my family to say goodbye to. The only one that made the kids cry. She has a great home life, she’s bonded with her owner and is inseparable from his Lab. She is quiet, intelligent, good natured, and trainable. She looks great and only gives me mild pangs of regret, but you can’t keep them all.

Arcann began hitting his first consistent points this weekend. Not super intense yet, but he’s definitely putting the ideas together. We introduced launchers and he didn’t bat an eye.
