Our next unofficial judging workshop is in the pipeline for a Saturday in August. Just waiting for a mutual date to be confirmed with our 2 speakers for the session.

Morning is theory and lots of interactive Q&A. Afternoon will see a practical component. Those who would then like to join a list of preferred judges for K&K Equine, and be recommended to other event organisers, will then need to pass a short quiz.

Last year we received great feedback from a very interactive workshop. We had people in the room who were very experienced judges and stewards to those who had never done before and all walked away with something.
Attendance, with lunch provided will again be $50.

The morning session will also be open to riders who want to gain some more insight into how they are judged and what is being looked for in particular classes. Attendance, without lunch provided, will be $30. Lunch will be optional $10 extra.

Location: Foxwood Farm Equestrian Centre

We would like to work out the best time for our 2024 Judging Workshop (WA)- so let us know, are you keen to attend and what days are best? We have already secured Bayley Thomas as one of the Instructors for the day.

Successful completion of this workshop puts you as a preferred judge for K&K Equine events, as well as promoted to other event organisers when seeking judges. We were so delighted to have last years workshop so well received, that many event organisers contacted us and sought the names of the successful participants.

Remember, we will also be looking for 5 or 6 demo riders for the afternoon portion of the workshop. Competitors will also be welcome to attend as it is a great insight into what judges are looking for!

BioBrew Australia offer an amazing product to suit the pet in your life. They carry the Equi Brew, Pet Brew, Calf Brew and Stock Brew, offering a great support to the digestion of your pets/livestock. We have tested and continue to use this product personally on our horses and dogs and have been seeing great results.

BioBrew has been kind enough to sponsor some events for us including the 2024 Saddle Horse Championships in WA. We are so grateful for their support of our business and events.

Autumn Dressage Protocol Competition

We are back for 2024 and looking forward to our protocol series again. This year we add a little twist... There will be a season winner from each series (Autumn, Winter & Spring) and then an overall Champion for each level from Preparatory to Medium.

So with our first series, Autumn, we are back at Stella Equestrian. Judge to be advised shortly.

*NOTE: If you are interested in sponsoring a level for the season series or overall please get in touch.

We said we wanted to thank our volunteers. We want them to know that no event we, or any other club or Society, run would be possible without them!

And we promised you a special surprise to say thanks, so tune in and enjoy... especially if you have volunteered for us in 2023!

On behalf of Kelly & Kellie at K&K Equine, we wish you the most incredible Christmas and all the best for a prosperous and happy 2024!

We also would like to take this moment to say a massive thank you to all of our amazing competitors, sponsors, volunteers, supporters and followers. This year, 2023, marks our first official year of K&K Equine and we have been overwhelmed by the incredible support we have received. We hope that you have all had an incredible first year with us and we look forward to sharing many more with you all.

As we get close to rounding out our first full year with K & K Equine, we know that our success is not ours alone. We have been so fortunate and humbled by so many amazing people throughout 2023 who have stepped up to help us out, one way or another; anything from cleaning up manure or setting up/packing down arenas to a full day writing or scoring dressage tests!

See all those names on the flyer; many of those amazing people have helped at multiple events and sponsored events/classes too! If you have joined K&K Equine at an event this year as a competitor, please be sure to join us in sending every single one of those incredible people a very big THANK YOU!

We do have a special 'official' announcement for our 2023 Volunteers to come, we just have one more dressage event this year before we can.

We ensure that we offer some (financial) thank you to our volunteers (despite many turning it down), but we have one more trick up our sleeve that we cannot wait to share with you.
Stay tuned!

23/11/2023

Have you volunteered at any of our K & K Equine events in WA this year?
Well stay tuned!

We have one event left for our 2023 calendar and after that we will be making a special announcement. And we cannot wait to share it with you.

We received our first photo of the incredible rugs from the EVENT FULL- NO MORE ENTRIES!!! K&K Equine Open Tee Dressage Day… wow!!! They turned out even better than we expected. How amazing did one of our major sponsors, Jojubi Saddlery, do on these? We LOVE them! Can’t wait to get photos from everyone else.

Here is the Novice Champion, Lexyce Burlesque (owned and ridden by Alex Edwards). Novice was sponsored by Pegasus Equestrian Products.

We had Event 1 of our K&K Equine Protocol Dressage Series today; this story is about one of our entrants!

Is is a timely reminder to check your tow balls... maybe get your jockey wheel and electrics, brakes, etc all checked while you're at it!

EDIT - this post has created alot of interest and alot of well-meaning people and keyboard warriors are suggesting ideas and sharing their own opinions of what happened which is upsetting to those who are directly involved so I've been asked to clarify a few things-

Float was serviced twice in 12 months ✔️
Ball and hitch are the correct size ✔️
Chains crossed and correct length ✔️
Towing capacity correct ✔️
Tyres on float and car correct ✔️
Hitch was latched and pinned and came off intact with pin still closed.
Professionals checked and confirmed the 7yo ball had become "fretted " which is why this incident has occurred.

I have shared this purely to help the horse community ( or anyone towing) stay safe on the roads. Judgemental comments are unnecessary- please be kind 🙏 Sorry to the people involved 😢

*Check your balls !
Something to think about for anyone towing- maybe it's common knowledge for some( and I must admit I've wondered about the wear and tear of tow balls but never looked into it - but i will now !)

Recently I heard a story of a lovely newer , good quality extended float being towed by a high quality 4WD and terrifyingly the float came loose from the vehicle- horse on board- on a hill - TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE FOR ALL CONCERNED!
Everything was checked , fixed , horse and driver ok. Float was back on road for a few trips until terrifyingly- the same thing happened again !

Float and car promptly got sent off to find answers as to why this keeps happening- turns out the tow ball had worn down so it didn't sit snug and caused the float to pop off. I'm quite sure most people will say they knew to change the tow ball ( I googled- every 3 to 5 years apparently! )

But maybe you didn't know. Maybe this post might save you and your horse!

* this isn't my tow ball - it's a random one I saw on the street hahaha
