Ever notice your chickens go crazy for anything red? 🐓 Turns out, chickens are naturally attracted to the color because it reminds them of food!

From berries to bugs, their instincts tell them red means a tasty snack. It’s also why they peck at each other’s combs if they spot an injury.

This is the reason we chose red for our waterer and feeder. The chickens literally flock to it because of the red color! Just one more quirk to love about your feathered friends!

Here are a few tips to keep your flock dry and happy this season:

1) Elevate the coop and run for better drainage
2) Add sand or gravel to help with muddy spots
3) Cover part of the run with a tarp or roof to shield from rain.
