Howdy friends!! I’ve been quiet but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been working on things 🤠 I’ve been brainstorming some FUN-draisers I can run once the weathers warmer and steady!
I’ve also been fostering again and I cannot stress enough how important fostering is! I just got back from an adoption appointment where I got to gush and brag about how amazing this little girl was. She was surrendered to the shelter when her owners moved and she was so overstimulated she was picking fights with everyone and hissing/scratching the workers. I took her in, gave her her own bedroom and let her get used to me before I brought in my sisters cat and BOOM, she was an entirely new cat. 2 DAYS LATER. THATS ALL IT TOOK!!
She followed him everywhere, started exploring the rest of my house, started eating with my cats and forcing every new person who came in to love her and to say hi to her. I was crying when I emailed the foster coordinator telling her all the great things going on and that I felt she was ready to be adopted.
That was Monday and by Tuesday afternoon we already had an appointment set up along with 8 other people interested in her! All it took was a few weeks with me and for me to write up a little bio about her personality and now she’s off to the perfect home. 💕 It’s such a rewarding feeling knowing that at no cost to me, except for love and patience, that this little girl gets to live out a full, loved life 🫶🏻
Does it make me sad to say goodbye? Selfishly yes. But the joy and warmth in my heart that she’s found a perfect home out-weighs my sadness every time i say goodbye. And now I have room to do it all over again with the next foster(s).
