Deze video laat zo mooi zien hoe scheuren in de paardenhoef vaak ontstaan! Als hoeforthopeed leer je hoe je dit, vaak erg eenvoudig, op kunt lossen. Let op! Ik heb vaak gezien dat hoefsmeden de plaats waar de scheur loopt bewerken door daar te vijlen of er een snee door te maken. Dat is niet de oplossing! De hoefwand ter plaatsen moet juist zo sterk mogelijk zijn, het is altijd zaak de oorzaak weg te nemen.

Force free horse training!

There’s so much more to it than simply “click & treat”.

I try to regularly read, study, learn, do courses (with reputable sources, not social media influencers), discuss my training with peers/mentors, I also train a lot and I video and critically analyse what I am doing.

I have spent a lot of time, effort and money to be the trainer I am today and I am continually learning, because education never ends.

If you're out there too, working hard and learning hard about force free training - keep going!

Goede hoefverzorging begint met een pony die in balans kan staan op 3 hoeven en geleerd heeft om voor langere tijd zijn hoef op te houden. Heeft jouw paard of pony moeite zijn hoef te geven of voor langere tijd omhoog te houden? Dan kun je dat prima trainen, in maar een paar minuten per dag. De toverwoorden?
