Dexter was very happy to get in the aviary. Look at him flapping his wings 😆
It's worrying when they first go in and you've rehabbed a while, but I'm sure he'll be fine, he's ready for his next journey.

Dexter is looking great now. He's off to the aviary tomorrow for the winter, the youngsters will not be released until springtime
There are 3 more youngsters in there. Hopefully Letitia will follow him in a week or 2

Dexter and Letitia are out in the bathroom. Letitia (right) as yet again another shoe on, to correct her toes, but manages ok. Both are ready for the aviary, but if Letitias shoe doesn't work, Dexter will have to go alone.

I'm delighted this is Prescilla who I've been gaining her trust for 3 weeks, terrible string foot on both feet. Well I went armed today with peanuts and special seeds and grabbed her. Took 2 rounds, but she's now string free and must be so much more comfortable, just released her back to her flock.

Percis is sat on her thrown lol I couldn't find her. She doesn't fly yet. But enjoys exploring on the ground.

Letitia left and Dexter are enjoying their time out. She's got a shoe on, so just sits there, Dexter doesn't mind, he's quite in awe of her.

Little Letitia has finally got a make shift shoe on her. Let's hope it works as her poor feet are in such a terrible state for a young bird.

Demetrious arrived 2 days ago, sat on my doorstep. He isn't well, very bad respiratory and possibly canker. Do hope he makes it. He's just been nebulised, which helped with his mucus.

Letitia is out in the bathroom with the boys. Took in as the most awful string foot for one so young. Unfortunately her back toe is bent into her foot, so cannot get a shoe on her. Took a week to get all the string out of it, she's a street pigeon.

WHEN Marcus (right) met Percis outside the cage. Marcus was a gentleman, but Lucian Locket was not and had to be removed, chasing and driving her round the floor. All were supervised of course 😆

Poor girl was found by a colleague this morning she's pmv, so I'm about to travel on train to take her to a friend rehabber, as I can't take a pmv bird.
So lucky to have been offered a place for her.

Welcome letitia, who I caught yesterday, the day before I noticed outside tescos, with horrendous string feet, could barely walk, so fed her. I went back yesterday, same time and she was there, laying on her tummy, hoping I may come with seed. After half an hour waiting and watching, I grabbed her. She's in such a mess. 45 mins I worked on her feet, she had pain meds, today ill try more, such a bad case, but it's is a area, where found, where lots of people are and a market.
Hopefully I'll have more success today.

Percy is doing well, cannot decide if he or she,
what s*x at the moment, has put on 100 gms since he came here. 1 more week of meds to go.
I think he quite likes it here, with a big bowl of food, and his heat pad at night. He's settled in pretty well.

Josephine was waiting In the graveyard for me. Could not get pic as far too many birds. But thank goodness she's ok. She seemed very happy to be back with her friends. Let's hope her partner has forgiven her for staying a month, whilst she recovered.

Marcus Moon is guarding his perch. As Lucian Locket is sat on the sink watching, he tries to steel the perch, but Marcus is having non of it. 😆

Percy, is still fighting away, poor boy, he's just woke up from a long snooze.
He's getting more used to being here now and sits watching the other birds. He doesn't move much, but he's still with us, that's the main thing. He also loves to be hand fed seed. As he barely eats much at all. But he's comfortable and loves his heat pad.

Dna test done on Lucy Locket, who wait for it lol is a boy, so now named Lucian Locket. I did wonder why her or should I say him, didn't fall in love with Marcus.

Josephine is better and flying well again. Another few days and she can go back to her friends.
So happy for her, of course I'd like to keep her forever, but she's a wild girl and now better, she needs her freedom. No doubt she'll visit me a lot.

Percy is definitely not a youngster, more a matured boy. The big cere and messed up feet, have give it away lol very underweight though. Hopefully, he'll start to eat alone soon.

New youngster brought to me yesterday, named Percy, soacking wet through, in terrible state, he's made it through the night, not sure yet what's wrong with him yet, poor lad.

Baby Dexter is still alive, I'm pleased to say. Seriously, didn't think he make it, still very early days, he's not out of the woods yet. Worst canker I've seen in a baby that's lived. But he's on very strong meds. If he wasn't, he'd be gone by now.

I found this poor little boy last night, mouth full of canker. I didn't expect him to make the night, but he did. He's fighting away, I hope and prey Dexter makes it.

Poor Marcus is having a bad day today, he's ok, he just does this when he's worried about things. His nuero issues kick in. He's having some electrolytes now and back in his cage, where he's never scared.

Isn't she just gorgeous. Josephine is ok and I have seen her stretch, bringing the wing higher than her body. Hopefully, all she needs is time.

My beautiful girl Josephine is back with me, I rehabbed her in 2020 she stayed 7 months, since released she came sometimes 3 times a day to see me and often flew after me in the street. Yesterday I was walking with my dog and saw her, all was fine, coming back home for some unknown reason I came a different way, and there she was grounded couldn't fly, my heart was in my mouth, tied dog to a post and grabbed her. Her wing is dropped, and bruised, no breaks. I imagine clipped by car or bike. Thank goodness I went that way, or would not have seen her. Quite a experience indeed, so Josephine is staying a while. Hopefully, she will make a full recovery 🙏

Lucy Locket is out in the bird room, Marcus wasn't at all sure how or why, but he's getting used to it now. Both preening and hopefully comfortable with each other. Both un releasable so good if they become friends. Lucy is loving it.

Great news, it's Gary who crop was hanging out, through hawk attack, and I had to take to a colleague who's more experienced in crops, he didn't need stitches thankfully and his dried bit of crop still showing, will eventually fall off. Hopefully, one day, he can come back here to his flock.
