Save the wallabies of Loch Lomond

Kirsty Young and Nick Jones (mbe) intend to murder the wallabies of Inchconnachan. Having visited the island myself I can confirm there is something truly magical and surreal about seeing a wild wallaby hopping off through the Scottish forest.
As a keen environmentalist I do not often advocate for the protection of a non-native, "invasive" species, however given the wallabies have existed here for over 80 years and their population is restricted to the small island I do not see the issue with their presence nor the animals as invasive. I believe the animals have a significant cultural, historical and economic benefit to the area.
This planned eradication is being carried out in the name of protecting the environment. I am doubtful of these intentions given they plan to build holiday lets on the fragile area of special scientific interest and special area of conservation. I believe their actions to be more about further filling their own pockets and turning the island into a posh t***s paradise.
