I missed posting on the day, but still want to take a moment to acknowledge and the impact of the human-animal bond in the mental health world. I don’t typically share personal stores here, but this feels relevant so bare with me!

Last month we lost our family dog (and one of the fur faces of the side buisness💕🐾) Maddi. Her illness was unexplained and sudden. Ultimately our family made the toughest call, and let Maddi pass over the rainbow bridge early December 26th❤️🌈. It was, and still is, tough, but we are thankful she didn’t suffer.

Now the relevant part- through my professional background I’ve learned of the Veterinary Social Work field, and let me tell you, I’m glad I did!

Everyone processes grief differently- the vet social work field can help focus on that human animal bond, and can help through any loss, trauma, or grief one may experience within it. I encourage any pet owner (and everyone working in the animal field) to look into resources a veterinary social worker can provide because working through the tough part of the field is so, so important.

A podcast that helped me is linked below. I love the idea of focusing on what your pet taught you- searching for those thoughts help me remember many good times with miss Maddi.

Working as a small business, word of mouth experience helps me tremendously! I can understand this- you’re allowing someone in your home to care for the pets that are a huge part of your family and life!! Hearing firsthand experience from those who have already gone through the process of hiring on a sitter can help ease the mind for someone who hasn’t been through the process yet.

Don’t be disappointed, this is a reminder to book your holiday pet care ASAP. My schedule is filling up.

🐾Does Fido need a potty break while you’re gone for a long day? I can help!
🐾Could Fluffy use some social time and a litter box change while you’re away for a few days? I’m your girl!

Thanksgiving weekend is a time to reflect, and share gratitude for the many blessings in my life. With that I say thank you to all of you, my long time, first time, and repeat clients. What started as a side business stemming from my love of animals has grown over the years into many friendships and connections with fur family members.

Thank you to every singe one of you for trusting me with the care of your animals. Coming from a fellow pet parent that is not something I take lightly! I am thankful for your continued support, and the connections you have allowed me to make with your animals over the years. Happy thanksgiving to all! 🐶🍁🐱🍂🐾

My girl Maddi loves to show off her tricks, especially if there are treats involved! She may be 8, but she’s still got it 😉 Older dogs enjoy training sessions too. They help exercise the mind, prevent boredom, and are great for bonding with your pup! 💕🐾
