What a superstar this cob is.
Kit Kat is such a fast learner and is going to make the ultimate hacking machine.
We set off in the school today but she was lazy and napping so we decided to take her out and about instead, it’s safe to say that’s where she is happiest.
No wobbles today and we had some serious traffic pass.
For those asking if she will be coming up for sale we already have a waiting list for her so she will almost certainly not go on the open market sorry.
Kit Kat out and about. A little wobble with the huge wagon and cattle trailers all passing at the same time but she coped very well for her first time out.
Our video really doesn’t pick up the sound that these wagons make at they pass us at 50mph.
We take great care in assessing all our horses in a controlled environment before they go out on this road.
Talk about laid back 😆
First assessment of Poppy today and it went very well.
Straight into a soft rubber bit as we always do and put her through some tests.
videos speak for themselves.
She only arrived on the yard Wednesday and this is how she behaves.
Dentist check tomorrow and then further assessment with traffic and open spaces etc to follow.
👀👀👀🐎🐎
Sean on the Newly broke Jet.
It was the first time for Jet with a different rider so he was a touch unsure but again took it all in his stride and did everything asked of him.
For a 3 year old he is doing fantastic.
4th ride on Jet.
For a cob that is just turning 3 he is learning well.
We are taking things slow and steady with him and he is remembering what he has leaned from the last sessions.
He will turn into something nice in the future.
Second ride out on Jet our new boy.
Just a baby at 3 year old with loads of filling out to do but he should make something nice in the future.
So far very willing to learn taking everything in his stride.
Putting plenty of pressure on big George this afternoon.
Productive day today in the sunshine.
Got our moneys worth out of Ellie Tremble 👍
Big George spooking at his own shadow tested her seat too 😆.
Danny boy also put the brakes on today but I didn’t get a video of it 😆
Thor coming on nicely with his Jumping and willow trotting away and getting fit.
Notice the white soap around the lips of all our horses. Soap is good indication that the horse is relaxed and enjoying the bit that in their mouth.
Nerys back on willow after three three years.
Will has produced two beautiful foals for us and is now coming back into work. This is her third time ridden in three years or more.
Yes she’s a beaut, No she is not for sale.
Some serious spook training with Big George today. He might be big but he spooks easily.
We thought he was ready for the road last week but he got himself all worked up about it so it was back to the drawing board.
He looks as solid as a rock in this video but just after we stopped filming I dropped a set of chains onto some metal just as he was walking away and he took Ellie for a two step bolt 😆
We then realised its not what he can see but what he can hear and can’t see that really spooks him. We then worked on him dragging a big metal plate behind him and he started to accept it.
Hopefully we will get him cracked in the next few weeks.
Most horses would run a mile at just the tarp never mind the JCB and me shouting like a mad man 😂
Big George and Thor having a stroll out together today.
Brood mares and stallion all wormed and moved on to some got grass today.
That’s them left to grow until autumn.
Harlequins huge colt Hennessy is an absolute unit compared to the other two.
Free day Friday.
Big George having a blast in the field too 👍💪
Thor is getting fitter but and will canter in the school but prefers an extended trot.
We thought we would take him in open and let him stretch his legs and see what he was like.
It’s fair to say he enjoyed himself (I think Ellie did too 😆)
This boy just gets better and better every week.
Jess in the school and then a bit of spook work, not that she spooks much. The JCB is a great machine for spook training as it has everything, bright yellow lots of noise and moving parts that go well above the horse.
She a good girl she just needs to get fit.
And finally for tonigh meet Trigger.
Picked him up yesterday and look how chilled he is already.
He’s not a trade horse he is for us to drive and we will get him riding for the boys this summer as Riley has out grown Lucky.
Don’t think likes to stay clean though 🤦🏻♂️
We have had Thor a while now, when he came to us he was jumpy and nervous and we didn’t feel it was fair on him to start his ridden training.
We turned him out and he wintered with the broodmares and he has been in education around 5 weeks now and he is a different horse altogether.
Ellie is having fun trying to get him to canter as he is trotting bred.
He is catching on though and will make an absolute beaut and of a horse for someone.
This Is Jess.
She a lovely big mare with a kind heart.
Not much bothers her but we tested her out with the van and little Sean on his motorbike.
We have been none stop Buying stock, selling stock and training stock so haven't had time to post many updates. We have caught up a bit now so lets start with Big George. He is a unit of a cob but has decided he is scared of everything that may kill him. This list includes chickens, cats, pigs, bees, wind, leaves that move in wind, grass that moves in wind, anything that moves 😆 he's a big softie and needs to get his confidence back so he won't be for sale yet. He is safe as houses but needs to settle in and get into a routine. We where hoping to get him back into driving also but he needs a bit more time to settle yet.
