Pipes OTTB

Pipes OTTB Pipes, the last horse to race under the Dogwood Stables colors. Acquired/raced by Eclipse, he retired and found his way back to Aiken, SC in 2021.

Now a budding eventer, he is ready to step out into the event world in 2022. Pipes is an OTTB who came off the track March of 2021. He primarily raced in the northeast with respectable finishes including a win at Belmont Park. As he was the last horse to race under the Dogwood Stables name, he found his way back to his home turf of Aiken, SC in Spring of 2021 where he was adopted through the Aiken

Equine Rescue. Pipes spent the next 6-8 months "being a horse" and learning the basics of flatwork along with an understanding of manners and courtesy. His career change into the world of eventing started in Spring of 2022 with field trips to local show venues, participating in CTs and schooling-level horse trials with the anticipation of his first USEA Horse Trials in November of 2022.

Couldn’t have started off much better! Pipe’s run at the Starter level in his first USEA event finished not only on his 28.3 dressage score, but with the blue ribbon and the top TIP award for his level!!

Obviously, this is just the start…But the foundation is forming and the way he really settled into his dressage test is exciting. 👍
