This lost cat appeared in our neighborhood. She is a long-haired calico, wearing a pink collar. Very malnourished. Please share and help her find her way home. She is now in midtown, in the 1900 block of Old Shell Road.

Another reason to spay neuter any cats that cross your path.

Something we don’t share a lot on our page, because we really try to show the more happy side of fostering/rescue …. But the suffering we witness some of these babies endure, some days is tooooo much. This morning, was one of those times for me, it was a tough one. In the past 2 - 3 weeks alone, we have had several kittens come in with horrific injuries & illnesses….

A single kitten who’d been doused in kerosene, suffering skin burns as a result, as well as an upper respiratory infection.

A momma & her baby, who’d been attacked by another animal/bird of prey ???? …. Mommy saved one of her babies, but sadly the others were found deceased near her.

A litter of neonates covered in fly eggs & had extensive wounds from flies attacking their helpless bodies.

Two kittens with severe eye infections, whose eyes were so swollen they couldn’t see.

Several newborn kittens found cold & abandoned. Young mommies aren’t prepared for motherhood, or mommy could’ve been killed or simply out looking for food & the kittens kidnapped.

A litter of kittens that had panleukopenia … 3 passed away. One has now recovered after intense supportive care with our foster, Leigh.

Numerous kittens with upper respiratory infections, flea & tick infestations causing subsequent anemia…as well as a litter with a lice infestation.

Thankfully, due to the guidance of the amazing, Dr Jenn Mahan & her awesome vet tech, Hannah, who taught us very well over the last few years….we don’t say no to these intakes. However, caring for them takes a lot of time, dedication & especially money for vet appointments & medications. We think all kittens deserve a chance…

Together, we can all help end the suffering of these precious souls….
PLEASE SPAY & NEUTER YOUR PETS! AND IF YOU TAKE CARE OF STRAYS, PLEASE SPAY & NEUTER THEM AS WELL! THERE ARE GRANTS, ORGANIZATIONS, PROGRAMS & HELP AVAILABLE! PLEASE!!!

Mobile Bay Cats supports spaying pregnant cats. Why? Consider the cost to spay one pregnant female versus the cost to spay a whole litter of 3-6 kittens. Kittens born outside may be eaten alive, torn apart bit by bit by any number of predators, such as snakes, owls, hawks, eagles, and dogs. Kittens are sometimes born in storm drains. A normal Mobile rain will drown them. Kittens born outdoors are more likely to suffer from starvation and disease. Cats multiply like rabbits and there are just too many felines and not enough humans to adopt them all. When you give away kittens, consider that the nice person who wants a kitten or two might well be using them to feed a pet snake. Or, using them as bait for dog fights. Any kitten you give away may end up outside having litter after litter, unless they are spayed neutered before adoption. There are hundreds, if not thousands of kittens being given away right now in our area. Before you condemn this policy, think about it.

This is a last resort that many animal rescue organizations are considering! It is sad but sometimes the only solution.
There are not enough foster homes available to help groups.
Thus difficult decisions have to be made. 🐾🐾♥️🐾🐾

Please spay and Neuter all pets;
Cats, Dogs , Rabbits, ferrets and male goats ..🐐

Feral cats in Australia are killing native species. Australians are resorting to measures of control we might consider brutal. I share this to beg you to spay neuter your pets and any cats you feed. Keep your cats indoors so they cannot kill birds and other local critters. We don't want this to happen in America.

Ruby Slippers, a downtown restaurant in Mobile, AL, now has outside seating that allows your dog or cat to accompany you. They have a dog menu in April. Love a place that has a dog/cat in residence or allows them to visit.
