That is a great question! This is the best way to work on that ๐๐ข๐ก๐ with your dog and keep their obedience ๐ฆ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฃ! โฃ

Work on your clicker work inside; itโs a great way to help burn off some of your dogโs energy. Use your dogโs kibble (or a high value reward), and the moment your dog does what you ask, โจCLICKโจ! And give them that treat! Practice sits, downs, place, stays, and recall. Work on that eye contact and engagement. Walk around the house and have your dog sit or down and stay in random places. Have them sit and free over and over, it can even be turned into a game of Hide and Seek! Just like math tests in school made us tired mentally, working that obedience is just as exhausting for your dog. ๐ฎโ๐จ Itโs a great way to keep your dogโs obedience sharp, and a fantastic way to work on your bond together! ๐คโฃ

I hear it all the time, โMy little dog canโt do that! He doesnโt listen! She barks at people and dogs! He wonโt come when called!โ ๐ But look at this little Frenchie! Heโs a perfect example of little dogs being able to listen. Obedience, stay from a distance, and recall! People often think little dogs arenโt trainable (or worth the effort to train), so they just live with the bad behaviors, like barking at people and dogs, pulling on leash, etc, and donโt think their little dog will do obedience for them. This isnโt true! So many little dogs love to work, just like the big dogs ๐โฃ

Place and stay was hard for this little guy at first, but look at him now ๐คฉ Day 1 of training, I would have never gotten him to sit still, or come back to me. He would have run off to check out everything else ๐ฃ๐ถ๐ต me! ๐

This little lady makes me so proud! A perfect example that little dogs can do it, too! Itโs also awesome to see her mom putting in the work with her. We were practicing place and stay in multiple places, especially since this lil Tater wants to always be with mom. We started slow, and before we knew it, mom was hiding around the corner and Tater was staying put.โฃ

Gentle giant! ๐ This big love bug of a dog is the sweetest! He was sooo happy to see his family after his board and train; he was with me for pulling on the leash, and for building up his confidence. (When I say โpulling on the leashโ, he is extremely strong and can pull anyone on the other end of the leash... Squirrel, dog, people, whatever the distraction, he could easily yank you to them! ๐ซฃ) To watch his little humans (and his big humans) walk him, makes me so happy!โฃ
