Shelters and rescues are filled. Euthanasia rates are increasing. If you can't adopt, consider fostering. There are short-term fosters (overnight even). Help save a life. Spread the word. Adopt from shelters or rescues. 25% of dogs in shelters are purebred. There are many rescues who specialize in certain breeds. Never purchase from a breeder. It only encourages them when they see how much $$$$ they make.

Animal shelters are dealing with an influx of dogs and cats since the pandemic lockdown, and the overcrowded conditions are leading to higher euthanasia rates.

Love this idea. I emailed a local shelter about this idea. If an Ohio shelter can do it, so can others. Let's make it happen.

💔 I'm not your pet, but I feel pain....
My spine is broken, my stomach hurts, my pain is increasing, I can't move, I'm dying slowly.
If you didn't want me, you could use the trap cage, pick me up without injuring me and then set me free in the countryside or take me into a SPCA.
I was just hungry.....💔
Glue traps are just as bad if not worse.

We rarely post anything graphic. This may cause some people to feel uncomfortable, but that's fine because if it bothers someone enough to feel that, then maybe it should bother them enough to never use these types of traps, or glue traps. I will not debate this, so do not try to argue with me. I have looked into all types of traps, believe what I believe, and that's that. The thought of mice in my living quarters or anywhere near me makes me cringe and gag. Still, I don't believe in the pain and suffering of any creature, and I know enough people who've used these and glue traps that I figured this needed sharing. Again, if you don't like looking at this post, I'd like to think it's because you wouldn't ever use these, and to those people I'm sorry for the post (it's upsetting for me to see as well). The rest who would use these, well, it's a hell of a lot more graphic in person, so maybe just seriously think about what this is saying and PLEASE don't ever do it again. Thank you.

Prince
is a 2 year old, 39 lb husky/labrador retriever mix who is rescue only simply because he is scared😔 He has been at the shelter since Oct 2, and the shelter has put out a final plea. Please, please share and tag rescues! Let's not allow Prince to lose his life because he is scared!!
Here are his behavior notes from the shelter:
"As the runner approached his kennel gate, he paced back and forth in his kennel. His tail was tucked, his ears were back, his body was trembling and he had whale eyes. The runner opened his kennel gate and stepped in, then knelt down to his level allowing him to approach her slowly and sniff her. He was easy to loop leash but low crawled on leash when there was loud noises or fast movement around him. He entered the catch pen with concerned eyes, a tense trembling body and a low tail. The runner knelt down next to him to slowly put on his leash and collar. He did not approach the play yard fence to greet the other dogs coming to greet him. When he was allowed to enter the play yard, he roamed the play yard avoiding the other dogs and creating space quickly to keep to himself. A larger male dog tried to greet him and then pursued him after he created space running away from him. He ran around the play yard looking for a way to exit. Due to his handling sensitivity he will be designated RESCUE ONLY"
