❓How do you suggest a beginner get involved in the equine community here in Tucson? ❓

“Getting involved in the horse community as a beginner is best done by starting with your current instructor. Equine professionals are always busy and can often use help with chores. After your lesson, ask your instructor if they need assistance. This is a fantastic opportunity to spend more time around horses outside of the saddle, learn more about horsemanship, and gain insight into the daily operations of running a facility or training program.

Another excellent way to immerse yourself is by volunteering at local horse shows. Disciplines like 3-Day Eventing rely heavily on volunteers, making it a great way to experience the excitement of shows while learning what goes into organizing them. Supporting local horse shows is essential for keeping them running, and welcoming beginners into the various disciplines offered in Tucson helps strengthen our equestrian community!”

“Arrow”

9 yo 15.3h OTTB gelding (JC: Impetu)

Arrow is a super sweet and attention loving guy looking for his next home. Arrow has never been finished in any one direction BUT he is very willing, learns quick and is generally very sensible. Ride him in the cold, wind, few days off, he typically comes out the same.(No buck, bolt or rear)

He has been in training with me (h/j eventing trainer) for a few months and has already progressed significantly, would just need finishing on all the buttons. That being said he is NOT for a beginner, he is requires an educated hand and a quiet leg. Perfect for someone looking into restarting ottbs who never has.

Arrow has 3 comfortable and forward gaits, moves off the leg well and is soft in the bridle.

Asking low 4s. Good home is a must.

SO proud of little G man for placing second at his first horse trial ever!

Double clear on xc and stadium to finish on our dressage score of 30!

He maybe the most stubborn horse I know, but we’ve earned a mutual respect for one another. He for sure loves to jump and apparently show off too!

Horses are weird.. he can fall asleep in the arena, ride around with loud noises all around him, walk the property in 40 mph winds.. but gets anxious when you look at him wrong or try and brush his face 😂

We all had a blast at game day for Madalynn’s 10th birthday! 🥳

Musical stalls, red light green light, Simon says, pass the halter & mother may I!

It made me feel like I was 10 again! We will definitely be doing more of this is the future, so much fun!

Annie is an approximately 6 y/o mustang mare standing just under 14 hands:

Annie is brave, forward & loves to jump! she is still green & requires an experienced rider with an educated hand. She is learning to accept contact, move off the leg & figure out her stride over fences.

Annie has the talent to be an amazing eventer/jumper for an experienced kid/amateur on a budget, or a professional looking for a fun project!

Sound, barefoot, easy keeper, stands well for farrier, ties, crossties, loads, trail rides, UTD on vaccines & recent teeth float.

Dvorak Equestrian has openings for private full/part time training as well as one slot for lessons on our lesson horses!

We are located at Royal Star Equestrian Center center on Tucsons beautiful east side. Various different stalling options, 2 well maintained riding arenas (jumping & dressage), trails around the property, quality hay 3x day, owner provided grain/supplements 1-2x day. Indoor/outdoor wash racks & large tack rooms! Excellent onsite management & a friendly environment!

Xena & Dorcas are a mother/daughter training team with a combined 80plus years of experience!

We are a small hunter/jumper & eventing program with a focus on creating a solid foundation of the basics to create a well rounded horse & rider. While also encouraging our riders to progress & reach their goals! We also believe in the importance of overall horsemanship & focus on all aspects of horse ownership. We work with all horses no matter the breed, age or skill level but specialize in young ottb/warmbloods & ponies!

We attend all the local h/j & eventing horse shows & clinics.
