Home To Home: Calling all big dog lovers!

This gentle giant continues to shine! Nearly a year since being rescued, Achilles has made incredible strides in trust and confidence. He now adores kids, does well with other dogs, and has even warmed up to men after his early fears. Recently, Achilles visited North 40 in Omak, where he happily met new people, including a dog owner with a pit bull—and they got along great!

Achilles is still best suited as a family pet in a rural setting without small livestock. He’s a quick learner, kennel-trained, neutered, vaccinated, and absolutely ready for his forever home. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion, Achilles might just be your perfect match!

Achilles is approximately 2 to 4 years old and up to date with his vaccinations.

Home to Home pet adoption is a process where pet owners looking to rehome their animals connect directly with potential adopters. Pending funds, we support families with vet care, vaccinations, behavioral tests and/or training and pet food. PM to get connected with Achilles’ rescuer. Achilles will travel a reasonable distance to find home.

If you think this handsome boy could be the one for you, PM us for an application and let Achilles find the forever home he truly deserves.

Update on River 11/15/24 3 pm – He Found His Forever Family!

We are thrilled to share that River has been adopted by a wonderful family experienced with large breeds! They saw Fur Ever Yours’ post, which, thanks to this amazing community, was shared over 600 times. Your kindness, shares, and support made all the difference in finding River the perfect home.

River’s journey has truly touched so many hearts, and we couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. A heartfelt thank you to Shoshone Pet Rescue and the local police chief for their dedication to River, and to all of YOU for spreading the word, encouraging, and believing in his story.

To River’s new family: welcome to the Fur Ever Yours family, and thank you for giving this deserving boy the loving home he’s been waiting for.
Together, we can continue making a difference, one dog at a time.

Update 11/15/24: Final Plea for River – He’s Out of Time

Our hearts are heavy with River’s story. This beautiful soul was found wandering alone in Pinehurst, Idaho. Originally from Tonasket, WA. River was brought to the Shoshone County Pound in hopes of finding his way back to his family. Former Tonasket resident said he was rehomed.

Time has now run out, and the Shoshone County Pet Rescue and pound is overwhelmed with strays they have taken in and simply cannot keep River any longer. We recently learned that he struggles with separation anxiety and would need a home without small animals. With every day that passes, he feels more abandoned, more alone.

Shoshone Pet Rescue has done everything possible to keep him safe, but they are out of options and resources. River’s only hope now is a foster or adoptive family who can give him the stability and love he so desperately craves. Transport options are available to the Medical Lake, WA and we are hoping for volunteers to transport him to Okanogan, and possibly even to the west side this Saturday, Nov 16th.

Please, if you can open your heart and home to River, even temporarily, apply to foster or adopt him now. He’s just a young dog with so much love to give, and he deserves to feel safe and wanted. If you can’t adopt or foster, please share this post and help us reach someone who can.

Let’s not let River’s journey end. Apply now through Shoshone Pet Rescue: https://www.shoshone-pet-rescue.org/

UPDATE 11/12/24: URGENT: River Needs a Forever Home!
River’s story has taken a tough turn. This sweet boy, found wandering in Pinehurst, Idaho, is currently in the Shoshone County dog pound. His hold time has officially run out, and the local police chief urgently needs him out of the pound. Resources are stretched thin, and they simply cannot care for him any longer.
Thanks to our incredible friends at Shoshone Pet Rescue River has one last shot at finding a family. They’re opening up the adoption application process TODAY! We’re stepping in to assist with reviewing applications and, if needed, organizing transport to get River safely to his new home. Stay tuned for more updates – a local person will be meeting River today to get to know him and share her observations.
If you’ve been looking to add a loyal, loving companion to your family, please consider giving River the forever home he deserves. Let’s not let him wait another day longer than he has to.
Apply now via Shoshone Pet Rescue’s website: https://www.shoshone-pet-rescue.org/
Email completed applications directly to them.
Please share this post to help us find River’s perfect family. Every share counts! Meet River, a neutered male dog found recently in Pinehurst, Idaho. According to his microchip registration, River belongs to a family in Tonasket, WA, who registered him about a year ago. He’s now safe at the Shoshone County Pound, where our friends at Shoshone Pet Rescue are doing their best to get him back home.
Much like the rest of the country, Shoshone is experiencing a large number of stray dogs, which makes reuniting pets with their families even more crucial. If River’s family is no longer able to care for him, please reach out to us or to Shoshone Pet Rescue so they may proceed with rehoming him and finding him a new loving home.
Let’s get the word out to help River find his way back! Please share this post, and if you know his family, encourage them to reach out.

This is Jinx, a sweet and spirited 8-month-old German Shepherd who deserves a family that can give her the life she deserves. Jinx’s journey started when she was found wandering alone, and a caring young man took her in, giving her a safe home and lots of love. But life has thrown a curveball—the young man is struggling to find work and has had to accept a job that requires travel, leaving him unable to care for Jinx. Now, a family member, who is disabled, is caring for Jinx but can’t keep up with puppy energy. We are reaching out to our community to see if you may be able to provide a home for Jinx.

What is Home-to-Home Adoption?
This process connects families looking to rehome their pets directly with potential adopters, helping animals transition smoothly into new homes. When funds allow, we also support families with vet care or pet food to ensure every pet gets the best start possible.

Jinx has been fully vaccinated. Her family is covering the cost of her spay surgery and any additional shots to ensure she’s healthy and ready for a new home. She’s a typical playful puppy—she loves people, is house-trained, and knows basic commands like sit, lay down, and tries her best to "stay."

Jinx has been great with smaller animals like a Maltese and a cat, though she’s a bit wary of larger dogs and tends to be protective around them. But with patience, guidance, and a stable environment, we know this loyal, beautiful girl will thrive. PM if interested in Jinx.

Please share this post to help Jinx find her family! Family is open to traveling to Wenatchee, Spokane, or Tonasket to make the right match. Let’s help Jinx find the happy ending she deserves.

Gratitude in Action November 2024

As we enter this season of giving thanks, we are especially grateful to The Grey Muzzle Organization for their generous grant that has allowed us to continue our senior dog intake diversion program. Thanks to their support, we recently helped a local family afford a much-needed dental procedure for their sweet senior dog, Mochea. Now, Mocha is happy and healthy, and most importantly, still with the family who loves her to pieces.

This funding comes at a critical time, allowing us to give senior pets the care they deserve and help them stay where they belong—at home.

This season of giving thanks, we are grateful for our community and grantors like The Grey Muzzle Org, who make this lifesaving work possible. Please consider donating to help more senior dogs like Mocha, or if you can’t give right now, share this post and tag a friend who loves animals. Together, we can make a difference!

UPDATE: 11/13/24 We’re thrilled to share this happy update on Kled! Thanks to Officer Wert, who arranged our hastily arranged meet-and-greet this morning, Kled has found his forever family!

A wonderful local family from Okanogan welcomed Kled into their home, and we’re happy to report that their female dog has given her full approval!

This outcome wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support from our community, who helped spread Kled's story and opened doors for his new beginning. Thank you to everyone who shared, cared, and believed in giving him a second chance Welcome home, Kled!
Thanks to our amazing community, River’s story reached far and wide, shared 372 times – proof of the kindness and compassion right here in our community.
Now, we have another urgent case – Meet Kled.

Kled is an intact male, about 2 to 3 years old, who was found thin, fearful, and likely abandoned. With the help of Omak ACO and animal advocate Rita, he was safely trapped. Though he’s wary and freezes when touched, we feel he just needs some patience and understanding to feel secure again. He's eating normally, has regular bathroom habits, and is currently only about 40 pounds.

Kled’s time in the Omak pound is running out – he’s already been there for 5 days. We urgently need a patient foster willing to help this sweet soul learn to trust again.
Please reach out if you can help. Fostering saves lives, and Kled deserves a chance to heal and find a family who’ll show him love. Together, let’s give Kled the second chance he needs.

Contact us if you can foster or share this post to help spread Kled’s story.

Ellie May is an energetic and loving 3-year-old Corgi mix who weighs in at 40 lbs. This sweet girl is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all her vaccines, including rabies. Her big, playful personality shines through every day!

Ellie May is a ball of energy who loves to run and play with her toys. She has a special fondness for children and makes a wonderful, engaging companion for little ones. Potty trained and crate trained, Ellie May is already familiar with household routines and manners.

Though she’s little, Ellie May has impressive jumping skills, so she needs a 6-foot fenced yard to keep her safe as she plays. Her perfect family will be active and ready to give her the love and playtime she deserves.

Fostered in Moses Lake, WA. Will travel a reasonable distance to find new family.
If you’re ready to welcome Ellie Mae into your life, apply to adopt her today! PM for an application.

A Huge Thank You to The Grey Muzzle Organization!

We are so thankful for the support of The Grey Muzzle Organization in funding our senior dog intake diversion program! Recently, Flower, an 11-year-old Chihuahua, gave us quite the scare. Her mom was panicked because Flower was screaming in pain, fearing it might be serious and worried about the cost of her care.

We immediately set up a dental appointment, but in classic Chihuahua fashion, Flower surprised us all! After a thorough check-up, the vet found that her mouth and teeth were perfectly fine—just a case of dramatic flair at home!

Thanks to The Grey Muzzle Organization, Flower's mom had peace of mind, knowing help was there when it seemed most urgent. It’s heartwarming to be able to keep senior pets where they belong—with their loving families.

If you’re moved by Flower's story, consider donating to The Grey Muzzle Organization so they can continue to fund shelters and rescues like ours. Your support helps keep pets in their homes and cared for in their senior years.

This little 5-pound sweetheart found her forever home in Centralia with one of our alumni dogs, where she's already thriving.

The support from Pennyfix and our local foster families made Tizzy’s journey possible. With your help, we can continue providing safe, loving futures for dogs like Tizzy.

Follow us and PennyFix to support more success stories like hers! Like us, they are 100% run by volunteers. The vision of PennyFix is to eliminate overpopulation through a program financed by pet owners, pet lovers, and the pet industry through donations.
