🐾💜 Did You Know??? 💜🐾

Kittens sometimes end up taking very unfortunate rides inside 🚗 engines, and we’re pretty sure that’s exactly what happened to our newest (and possibly cutest) little intake. 🐱

This tiny explorer must have thought the engine was a warm, cozy hiding spot. Instead, it turned into the world’s worst amusement park ride. 🎢

Thankfully, he was found, rescued, and is now safe, warm, and getting all the love he deserves 💗🐱

If you’d like to help support this sweet little survivor, we would be incredibly grateful.

Kittens hiding in car engines is more common than many people realize, so please remember:

• Tap the hood
• Honk the horn
• Check before you drive

You never know when a tiny whiskered stowaway(s) might be hiding inside.

More updates on our brave little survivor coming soon 💜🐾

It's Tuesday, and it's been only three days since they were all living outside under a backyard deck. Once a couple of them are comfortable with us, the others are soon to follow.
Of course, there is always that one who tries to remove my fingers from my hand, but all good now. All part of the rescue life.

Good Monday afternoon,

Just a quick update on our newest kittens.
As of today, all five have had a bath, checked for ticks and fleas, ears checked and cleaned, f***l test done (which was all negative) first vaccination, eye medication and antibiotics. Tonight they will all get their first round of dewormer and we'll apply more eye meds as perscribed. One of the little guys has a respiratory issue, like a very bad cold, so we're watching him closely. This is common and easy for these little ones to get, especially with our crazy weather. 80s/90s one week, 60s/70s the next, then almost freezing temps at night, cold and damp makes it tough while their immune system is still developing.

Mom is currently at her vet appointment so no more babies for her! We will hold her for 3 or 4 days to let her heal up from her spay surgery, then back home she goes.
The kittens are slowly learning to trust us, and three of the five we can pet and hold without too many issues. The other two will hiss and look scary, but we can pick them up and hold them, just have to take it slow.

Our former foster mom kitty Miruku, and her five babies are now at another foster home and settling in. This mom is also getting spayed today as well, and just in time as she went into heat again while she was still with us 🙄

Now for names and sexes of the new crew; we have three boys and two girls, and one of the boys has a little mustache, so we called him Charlie, as in Chaplin. With that we decided on other silent movie star names.
So introducing Charlie, Buster, Harold, Clara and Lillian, our newest crew of the Mabel's Orphaned Angels Rescue family. It's going to be fun teaching these babies how to trust people and be awesome kitties! Individual pics with names will come eventually, but for now here they are in their quarantine pen warm and clean.

Thank you so much for the support 💕

Good Sunday afternoon everyone!
Well it's been quite the weekend for Mabel's Orphaned Angels Rescue as not only did Mark help a home owner trap a new mom and her five babies yesturday and today, who we have now all bathed and cleaned up, but our fearless leader Lindsey was on the side of W. Chesapeake Beach Rd (Rt 260) trying to catch two kittens hiding in a large pipe which went under a driveway about 30 or 40 feet. She was able to catch one by hand, but the last kitty was not moving from deep inside, so Mark headed out with some other gear to help.
It wasn't a very big pipe, about 36 inches round and a bit bigger on one end because of all the dirt and leaves inside. So with Lindsey and a net covering one side, Mark attached a very large comforter to a 30' pole and started pushing it through, forcing the kitten to one end of the pipe. But, this little kitten wouldn't come out and the pole wasn't long enough to push all the way through. So, Lindsey belly crawled into the pipe and was able to grab it by hand, then Mark pulled Lindsey out of the pipe by her feet...SUCCESS!!! Some times you just have to do what needs to be done. Mom ran across the road into the woods, and we were able to get permission to set a trap for her, so hopfully we'll catch her too.
These two kittens will stay with Lindsey or go to another foster, and we will be holding on to our five new just trapped kittens. Our newest mom cat has a vet appt tommorrow, then after 3 or 4 days of recovery she will be released back where she was trapped, unless she becomes very friendly and we think she's abdoptable.
Our other Mom cat, Miruku and her five kittens will be leaving us today for another foster to take over for us so we can start socializing these five newest ones...it just never ends! :(

Well that's enough for now, PLEASE spay and neuter your pets, your relatives pets, neighbors pets, all of them, PLEASE!!
Have a great week, be good to each other and we'll post again soon.

Good afternoon all,
Even though we still have a mom and five kittens, we got a call about a mom and babies living under a family's deck, so we loaded up a couple traps, pet carriers and essential supplies and off we went
Successfully caught Mom and three of the five kittens with the help of a most awesome home owner. We left her a trap and a carrier and we will be called immediately if the other two get caught.
Mom has a TNR vet appointment for Monday, and then she will stay with us for about 4 days so she can heal properly.
The three we caught today have had baths and are settled into their new accommodations. We'll post an update as soon as the last two are caught.
Thank you for following and supporting us! You guys are the best!

Good Sunday morning and Happy Mothers Day!
A quick update on our mom kitty and her crew.
First, Mom and all five babies recieved thier first vaccinations and in a couple weeks they will all get their next round. Mom continues to gain weight and is now 7.6 pounds! She is still nursing her babies when we bring them to her, but they are all eating wet and dry food both, so it's only a matter of time before she decides it's done.
To give mom a break, the kittens have been spending most of thier time away from her in our kitten play room. They are loving it, getting a lot of exercise running and climbing on everything! They are growing so fast, gaining weight as they should and they all have been perfect with using the litter boxes, so that hurdle has been conqured!
It will be some time before any of these kitties will be ready for adoption, but you can still visit savemoarlives.org to start the aplication process, or to see all the other kitties we have looking for their forever home.

Thank you all so much for following and supporting us

🥛🚫 Do NOT Feed Kittens Cow’s Milk 🚫🥛
Cow’s milk can make kittens very sick. Their tiny tummies can’t handle it and even a small amount can cause diarrhea dehydration and dangerous complications.

If you find kittens

Do not feed anything
