Good Monday afternoon,
Just a quick update on our newest kittens.
As of today, all five have had a bath, checked for ticks and fleas, ears checked and cleaned, f***l test done (which was all negative) first vaccination, eye medication and antibiotics. Tonight they will all get their first round of dewormer and we'll apply more eye meds as perscribed. One of the little guys has a respiratory issue, like a very bad cold, so we're watching him closely. This is common and easy for these little ones to get, especially with our crazy weather. 80s/90s one week, 60s/70s the next, then almost freezing temps at night, cold and damp makes it tough while their immune system is still developing.
Mom is currently at her vet appointment so no more babies for her! We will hold her for 3 or 4 days to let her heal up from her spay surgery, then back home she goes.
The kittens are slowly learning to trust us, and three of the five we can pet and hold without too many issues. The other two will hiss and look scary, but we can pick them up and hold them, just have to take it slow.
Our former foster mom kitty Miruku, and her five babies are now at another foster home and settling in. This mom is also getting spayed today as well, and just in time as she went into heat again while she was still with us 🙄
Now for names and sexes of the new crew; we have three boys and two girls, and one of the boys has a little mustache, so we called him Charlie, as in Chaplin. With that we decided on other silent movie star names.
So introducing Charlie, Buster, Harold, Clara and Lillian, our newest crew of the Mabel's Orphaned Angels Rescue family. It's going to be fun teaching these babies how to trust people and be awesome kitties! Individual pics with names will come eventually, but for now here they are in their quarantine pen warm and clean.
Thank you so much for the support 💕
