This is a serious post after just reading 2 things, locally, about bear attacks. I am cautioning my pet owners about the risk of bears 🐻 right now🐕🦺🦮🐕🦺
They are not harmless, they will chase you and your dogs, they will harm them. This hits home since yesterday I chose to provide dogs with potty breaks instead of full walks because it just felt like bears were out in that area… true story. Even left a note saying we were too far in the woods for me to feel we could have a safe walk. I’ve NEVER 🤯done that until yesterday!
A recent news article tells the story of a local hiker with a leashless dog, and when a bear found them-the dog lost his life… just a few days ago. Another local story circling at this moment is a possible human attack by a bear.
As someone who had a bear find me in the woods last year while I was minding my own business, without a dog, or even pepper spray, please be SO cautious. Keep your dogs on leashes right now🙏 Fenced areas are also safe. Last year Mrs. Bear taught a friend and me how fast and far we can run. You can’t play dead when they have been spying on how alive you are🏃🏻♀️
Tips:
1. Stay close to home (access to safety)
2. Carry bear spray, it’s stronger than pepper spray. Available on Amazon.
3. Do NOT trust your dog NOT to go after a bear
4. Eliminate food sources
5. NEVER feed a bear
6. Just be extra cautious💕🙏I would be ✨distraught✨ if I heard of one of my pet visit dogs having an accident while on a walk with their humans😩
7. Can you tell my biggest fear in the whole world (as of last year) are bears???
