Jim Cook- Cow Work

Jim was born in Glenwood Springs and raised on a ranch in western Colorado. After graduating from Colorado State University in 1973 with a degree in Veterinary Medicine, he ran his private practice for over 26 years before he decided to focus on training and showing reined cow horses.

Jim and his wife Jill are both accomplished NRCHA professionals with too many accomplishments to list. They run J&J Cook Performance Horses in Erie, CO.

Jim himself has over $111,000 in lifetime earnings. Not only is Jim a talented showman and horse trainer he is also an excellent trainer of people- the Cook’s clients have amassed over $100k in earnings, in addition to countless local, regional, and national achievements in the show pen.

This awesome team placed seventh with a composite score of 432 in the 𝑵𝒐𝒏-𝑷𝒓𝒐 𝑩𝒐𝒙𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑭𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒔 at the NRCHA Celebration World Championship Show! 💥

This was a class full of gritty horses and tough competitors, and we are so proud of howJosie showed all week long!

We are excited to watch this pair in the coming year continue to develop their relationship, and conquer new goals! 💪🏻
