Update: Fishies and kitties are SAFE! We pulled 6 cats, four of which are at the lounge and two headed to be my personal fosters to recover from ringworm. Check out our Instagram Stories to see their initial freedom photos.

The fish are headed to their new home now, so even though it was a crazy day it was worth it to save some lives of two very different species. 🤪💕

MEET LEO 🐾 AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!

Welcome to paradise bubba, a.k.a the Save the Meow Meows cat lounge where there is all the toys, beds, cat trees and snacks you could ever want. Leo is a very sweet buff orange kitty who has adjusted really well to the lounge. He is gentle, social and oh so cute.

I always am so happy for the cats that are able to make it to the lounge. We really try and make it an enriching environment while they wait to find a home. But also it makes me so sad to think of the thousands more who don’t get the same chances. So we will continue to fight everyday to make our little rescue a success to be able to help as many cats as we can. As always, donate, share, like, comment- every action helps!

Smol kitten or giant cat grass? 🤔 At the lounge we're always trying out different forms of enrichment. Here we have a foster kitten checking out the new mysterious and yummy plant.

Cat grass or Wheatgrass is good for kitty digestion and keeps them entertained. Should we stock some in store to sell? Let us know if you would be interested in trying it our with your cat!

How cute is Janice in her loaf position? This beautiful and sweet dilute calico girlie is still looking for a home. I know holidays are stressful and busy but what a better way to ring in the new year than with a new best friend!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKA 🎂 Our amazing lounge employee Mika is celebrating their 21st Birthday! If you've ever visited the lounge you'll be met right away with Mika's uplifting and joyful attitude.

Mika is great at interacting with community members and has really brought a lot of awareness to the lounge. They welcome everyone and ensure we are an accepting and open space for all people.

Mika is also incredibly knowledgeable on all the cats personalities and really makes each guest experience feel like they get to know the cats when visiting. We love having you as part of our tiny STMM team and wish you the best day ever filled with lots of kitten snuggles!

FLOOF ALERT ⚠️ Major cuteness

This is one of the TEN kittens we rescued from the Hesperia shelter who were out on the euthanasia list due to ringworm. They also have URIs to varying degrees (as almost all cats that enter these shelters develop unfortunately)

I think I want to name this one Floofi? Fluff? Something like that!

LOUNGE RE-OPENING! (Pre-cat release), the floors are so much better, brighter and cleaner. We put a lot of blood sweat and tears into this location and hope you can come by to support. This is an entirely voluntary effort and everything we do is to help save lives. 🥹

Now accepting cats and kittens to our cat lounge! For any rescue or TNR group who has kitties who are already fixed, vaccinated, microchipped and FIV/FeLv tested, and get along with other cats, we are able to accept them at the lounge this week.

We do not generally accept owner surrenders as our rescue focuses on saving the most vulnerable populations.

We hope to reserve some on-going spots especially for TNR or euth listed cats from other organizations, and accept them into Save the Meow Meows. If you are looking to partner or place some cats this week please reach out! They can be brought to either Pasadena or Joshua Tree.

SAVE THE MEOW MEOWS CAT CAFE!? WHAAAAT! It's time to let the cat out of the bag. We are so excited to announce that we will be opening our very own cat cafe/lounge.

Though we have been operating in LA, Joshua Tree is a destination that has nothing like this and has both local residents that can adopt and tourists that can come visit. Plus all our LA supporters it'll give you a good reason to make the day or weekend trip out there. It's magical!

We are currently hiring a full-time cat cafe manager (posted on Indeed) If you are interested in relocating and working with myself and the kitties.

So many more updates to come! If I haven't been responding as much or taking in cats just know this is why, LOTS of effort is being put into this new venture.
