As promised! The addition of this entry in the VetCorrect app was prompted by a 5 year-old Boxer that presented last week because of syncope, exacerbated by exercise or excitement. He had had an arrhythmia detected earlier but the owners did not pursue further diagnostics at that time because he was asymptomatic. His ECG showed ventricular bigeminy and another focus of ventricular premature complexes, both originating from the right ventricle. An echocardiogram showed mild decrease left ventricular systolic function (FS 20%) and mild dilation of left atrium.
We have started him on sotalol so hopefully we see reduced arrhythmias and symptoms.

There is often a long delay (depending on your location) between submitting a canine urolith and getting the results of its composition. This new flowchart in the VetCorrect app is 93-96% accurate in predicting the correct stone type so treatment and monitoring can be instituted early.
