This is SO COOL! 😎 Donnie from the IOM catching bad guys in Manchester 😍

Shortly after becoming a qualified police dog, Donnie has been deployed, tracked over differing surfaces and located THREE people wanted for burglary 😮 👏🏻 🤩

Young Donnie from the Isle of Man is now Police Dog Donnie in Greater Manchester Police’s Tactical Dog Unit 🤩 🇬🇧🐕🚓🇮🇲

We are so proud of this boy, who we sent to the UK at around 7 months old, not long after which he began his initial Police Dog course. We knew he had the stuff 😆 however the 13 week course is testing and a lot is expected from even the best dogs.

Donnie was developed by a client of K9 X and whom must be commended for the standard she got Donnie to - this is no mean feat, particularly as someone new to dog handling. Even some with vast handling experience lack the ability to develop puppies well.

We are so proud of Donnie and all involved in his training. He is now on the streets with a new handler and we can’t wait to follow their journey. Good luck, guys 👊🏻

This gave us that Friday feeling 🙌🏻 ❤️

A couple of Friday’s ago, we met with Lilith & Schafer from our ‘23 litter, as their family were keen to touch base with us to ensure they were on the right tracks.

What we saw from start to finish was outstanding!These sisters didn’t take their eyes off the family, they played, they recalled, they dropped toys on command, they were indifferent of passing dogs and people 🤩

When I asked about their training journey, they told me ‘we just had fun’ - this is vital and so often dissipates as dogs grow.

We are often asked ‘do the pups’ remember you?’, on this occasion, it’s like we weren’t even there 🤣 however, that is exactly what we do want to see! The family have succeed in building the best bond 🫶🏻

Rehoming time with our litters is always a mixed bag of emotions where all we can do is our utmost due diligence to pair the right dogs with the right families.

You never truly know how it will pan out. Although, we have been delighted with all of our chosen homes to date 🥰

Well done to each and every one of you. It means so much to us 🙌🏻

‘It’s a bit of a gamble going to the Isle of Man to assess a potential Police Dog, isn’t it?’

‘No, because it’s K9 X’

A snippet of the conversation had between the GMP dog acquisition team. Valid concerns during austere times, however the faith people who know us have, means so much 😊

It gets better, upon assessing Donnie (right in picture) we were told it’s one of the quickest ‘yes’s’ they have ever said 😍

Donnie has begun his 13 week initial course in Manchester and we look forward to hearing how he progresses. Whilst he initially displays good Police Dog qualities, there is a lot to play for over what is one of the longest Police courses.

We must mention the client we worked closely with who developed Donnie as a puppy. To get a puppy to a standard where professionals are interested in investing their time, is no mean feat. She is new to dog handling and must be commended for this.

The little Isle of Man continues to produce quality Police Dogs for the UK - this makes us smile 😊 🇮🇲 🇬🇧

Bonnie Bone-crusher 🦴 🚫 😅

You all knew how proud we were of Bonnie with the way in which she performed to such a high standard at her debut demonstrations, having only commenced training weeks before…..

Well 🙄 it transpires (some weeks later 🤦🏻‍♀️) that she may have been too good 😆 as these are actually the moments Bonnie broke Ian’s wrist!! 😮

No-one said working dogs was easy 😆😮‍💨 He’s powering through though 😉 💪🏻
