In honor of Elee’s 3rd birthday this month and the incredible milestone of being 82 days seizure-free today, we’re raising money to send EEG bears to kids at MUSC. A $25 donation will buy one bear to donate, and you can Venmo me at @ hilary-r-bassett by January 31st.
Elee had her first EEG when she was just 9 months old, following her first seizure. I’ll never forget how much she hated having to stay still, especially when all she wanted to do was play with the colorful wires attached to her head. She was stuck in a bed, unable to move, but the only thing that made her smile were new stuffed animals—specifically, her beloved zombie dog and pup, the real MVPs!
Since then, Elee has had more EEGs than I can count, and there will likely be many more in her future. Last year, I bought her a Brave Bears EEG bear, and she’s absolutely obsessed. She loves playing with the cap and backpack, pretending to put the leads on and off.
In honor of Elee’s 3rd birthday and the incredible milestone of being 82 days seizure-free today, we’re raising money to send EEG bears to other kids at MUSC. I can’t even imagine how much it would have meant to Elee and me if she had received such a thoughtful gift during one of her EEG visits. Seeing their stuffed animals look like them is so important, and as a parent, it means more than words can express.
A $25 donation will buy one bear to donate, and you can Venmo me at @ hilary-r-bassett by January 31st. Every donation is appreciated, and I’ll round up to ensure we donate as many EEG bears as possible! Thank you for helping spread a little joy to other families facing the same challenges.
