The beautiful thing about horses is that people feel seen in their presence 🐴✨

Horses do not have the biases we have as humans. Because of this, horses provide a nonjudgmental relationship where it feels safe to bring our authentic selves to the experience, including feelings of deficiencies, hurt, pain, insecurities, and fears. For some clients in mental health services, this can be the first time experiencing a relationship like this. To be truly seen and heard is a foundation for feeling safe and healing.

Horses are approximately 55 million years of survival instinct poured into an average of six or seven hundred kilograms of pure, go-fast muscle. So why would we choose to work with them? It comes down to communication. Our co-facilitators have the innate ability to sense feelings and emotions around them and respond. They are masters of self-regulation and expression. When we open ourselves up to their ideas, there’s so much we can learn!

MEET THE TEAM! The human behind Dirt Rich Equine is Siobhan Edwards, or ‘Chevy’. Chevy was born and raised in Port Hedland and the surrounding cattle stations. She has leaned on the strength of horses and the lessons they have taught her about resilience, kindness and embodiment her whole life. The aim of the programs at Dirt Rich is to teach people the same lessons that have served her. Come say hi!
