My husband and I were both out of town last week and our dogs stayed home with a dog sitter. As I’ve shared before, I always tell the boys where I’m going, why I’m going, what I’ll be doing, and—most importantly—when I’ll be back.
But here’s something many animal parents don’t realize: just because you’re physically away doesn’t mean you can’t still connect with your animals! And guess what? You don’t need to be a professional animal communicator to do this!!
Every single one of us has the natural ability to connect with our animals. It’s part of being human! We’re all innately intuitive and telepathic.
Here’s a simple way to try it:
1️⃣ Sit or lie down, close your eyes, and bring your animal to mind
2️⃣ Say (out loud or in your head): Hi, how are you?
3️⃣ Sit in silence and notice what you feel, hear, or sense
Maybe you suddenly feel excited, or a little annoyed. Maybe you see an image pop into your mind. Whatever comes through, TRUST IT. Communicate back and let them know what’s on your mind. There’s no right or wrong way to do this. It’s simply about intention.
When I checked in with Donald, he told me he felt “so manly and super swag” with our sitter Nick. SWAG?! I don’t think I’ve ever used that word in my life! 😂 Merlin wasn’t thrilled and seemed tense, so I reminded him why we were away and exactly when we’d be back.
Animal communication is such a beautiful gift. It can bring comfort and deepen your bond... whether you’re using it in everyday life with your own animals or, like many of my students, choosing to turn it into a professional career.
Never let anyone tell you that you have to be a “trained professional” to connect with your animals. That is complete nonsense!! Of course, there are many ways to expand your skills and strengthen the depth of your conversations, which is why I created an online program for those who feel called to go deeper. But even if you never study with me, know this: you already have the ability to connect with your own animals.
So next time you’re away, give it a try. Keep it simple, set the intention, and see what comes through. You may be surprised at just how much your animals want to share with you. 💛
