The recent Quiz Night fundraising event hosted by Paws Animal Rescue Group was definitely a hit and enjoyed by all! The evening took place at Cape Town’s vibrant Woodstock Brewery last week Friday.


This annual event gives the public not only an opportunity to get to know the NGO and its members but to also assist in generating the much-needed funds. The director, Nicholaas Smuts, was happy with the way the evening went. “This event would not have been possible without the public participating. We raised a total of R10 000 which will go towards setting up more of our mobile clinics in the poorer communities. We shared many laughs and beers (shh!) with everyone who joined in on the fun. We honestly cannot wait to organize the next.”

There were several prizes that were handed out to the winners of the evening which were all sponsored by local businesses. Cassidy Nel, the head vet, was thrilled to see that the event was sold out. “It is really great to see that we have the support from the public and our community. We do it for the love of animals.”

Due to popular demand, Paws Animal Rescue Group is considering hosting a quiz night every month instead of once a year! It is a great way of raising funds whilst testing one’s general knowledge and having fun – stay tuned for more information!
