No difference. We all feel the same thing. Hunger, love, fear, pain, loneliness…all the emotions of sentient beings. Except they have no voice.

It is a big bad challenging world for homeless dogs. They cannot ask for help. They cannot ask for protection. They have no access to reliable sources of food, clean water or shelter. They face the constant threat of harm, injury, illness, captured to be culled. They are simply trying to survive day-to-day.

The life of stray dogs is one of uncertainty, hardship, and a constant struggle for survival. They rely totally on the goodness of humans.

Yet they are those so obviously ignorant and emotionally barren who shout from their exalted position to curb the feeding of strays.

Tackle the root cause of homeless dogs and cats first. It starts with irresponsible humans. Those with a voice but heartless and devoid of conscience.

So Lady has been to the vet. She has some opaque discharge and was found to be a kidney infection. She’s now under the care of another angel while she’s on antibiotics. What would we do without these Angels? We are truly blessed🙏🏼 Thank you ❤️

🐕🌞 German relative on a visit. Loves water…probably the first time ever swimming and off leashed roaming.

We are always amazed at how dogs take to water and naturally paddle. It’s time pawrents learn to take their pets out for such new and enriching experiences for your loved furry ones❤️🐶🐕

In the past, there were no place to take your dogs to socialise and bond. Especially for big dogs. Now there is US so let’s connect!

Another Adopter’s tale

PUTEH
In the streets of Kuching, among the myriad of strays, she stood out with her grace and elegance. She was a beautiful white dog, aptly named Puteh by us. Her white coat and slow gait was the first thing we noticed, but it was her poised demeanor that truly capture our hearts.

Puteh roamed the streets with a quiet dignity, her elegant stride is a stark contrast to the chaos around her. She had an air of serenity, as if she knew her worth despite her circumstances. Her calm presence resting by the Hass gate, eyes reflecting a depth of emotion that conveys a life of survival.

For a while, Puteh seemed content with her life under our care. She had her favorite spots and her gentle prods against our legs for attention. Fate had something else in store for her.

One day, during an Adoption & Volunteer day, a gentle soul spotted Puteh. The adopter was immediately drawn to Puteh, captivated by the dog’s calm and elegant aura. Animals have a way of finding the people they need, and in that moment, there was this deep connection of kindred spirit.

With patience and kindness, she saw a beautiful soul who deserved a second chance. She decided to bring Puteh into her home, offering her the love and security she had never known.

Puteh’s transition from the streets to BarkPark and then to her forever loving home was a heartwarming journey. Her eyes now sparkle with joy, and her graceful movements now reflected a sense of contentment. She found comfort in the cozy corners of her new home and relished the warm meals and gentle caresses.

Puteh’s story is a symbol of hope and resilience, a reminder that every stray deserves a chance at a better life. In the end, Puteh’s story was not just about an elegant stray finding her forever home and the love she so deserved but about two souls finding each other.

From August we will be open till 7pm on weekends and public hols. Because we have been asked over and over again when we will have NightPass instead of just DayPass.

So we are giving it a shot. If well received we will do a double shift to have BarkPark open at night too. 🐶🌙🐕✨

On Saturday, HASS was invited by Borneo International School to have a booth by way of an introduction of our work. HASS was manned by student volunteers Arora and her friends from Segi College.

It’s heartwarming that students are keen and interested to learn more of what we do. With thanks to Arora and her friends for peer sharing with other students to introduce e HASS and the meaning of compassion and empathy in the treatment of animals. Teaching love and humane treatment of all sentient beings is the basis of being a good human being.

Never too young or too old to learn to love better❤️

🌿🐶💦 Saturday in BarkPark. Lots of fun activities with dogs and visitors with and without dogs! We realise lots of people just want to come and pet and play with our rescues. And they are most welcome to🐶🐕🫶🏼 We work hard to rescue, vaccinate and neuter every Borneo Special we rescue. We foster them with the best we can afford and hope that they will be welcomed into loving homes like they have got used to here at Hass Kennels ❤️🌈

ROO. 2 months old. Xrayed to investigate painful screams when moved. Found out that there’s a fracture on one of its legs and 5 swallowed stones! Today Roo goes for a review for an operation. Thank you god-mom Hass Rescue Committee Member for the TLC ❤️
