Hi guys! We had hoped we would be able to get back in action soon, but unfortunately we would have to further delay the plan for even longer now. This year hasn’t been kind to both of us so far, as we’re dealing with health issues for both of our dogs respectively.

KY’s Sherman was diagnosed with lens luxation, a genetic condition where currently, both of his eyes have fully luxated (posterior luxation). It could be a matter of weeks, months or years where removal of both eyes may happen. He has also been diagnosed with IMPA, an auto immune disease where his immune system is attacking both wrist joints and he’s in a lot of pain and discomfort, including affected eyesight from the lens luxation.

While my Cookie was found to have tumour which is very likely to be sarcoma, schwannoma at his spinal cord, near T1 and T2. The prognosis is poor, and we’re currently on palliative care and rehab, hopefully the day of paralysis and severe pain will not come that soon.

With these heavy situations we’re facing, we seek your understanding that we would wish to spend any available time we have, with our babies instead 🙏🏻

Also I personally would prefer to bring Cookie out as much as possible, with the limited 💵 left that I can afford, given that I’ve spent a bomb on his medical bills and ongoing rehab as the transports for the shoots would take a toll on my wallet 🥲

Meanwhile, I will still be posting the overdue shoots we’ve taken whenever I have the time and once again, our apologies that we’re unable to take up any PIT requests for now 🙏🏻

Hello 2024!

We’ve been really quiet and way behind on the posting last year though we did a couple of shoots, but haven’t been active especially the last few months of 2023 😣

We’ve been pretty caught up with our own stuff, I hope we’ll be able to get things up and going again soon!

Shoot for Good is back for round two!

After a rather successful first attempt back in Feb 2023, we decided to do this again with another beneficiary in mind. We’re hoping to include different types of beneficiary hence this round we decided to go with an individual rescuer, and a cat rescuer, 😊

I posted this announcement earlier today and we have 6 slots filled so far already!

Really thankful for the support and hope that we’ll be able to fill up all the slots this round so that we can fundraise as much as we can for Fiona 🙏🏻

Please spread the word if you can too!

P.S. really thankful to see “second timers” joining us again! I hope this also meant the photos were up to standard 😳

We were supposed to have Scooby’s session two days back but we received an urgent request from his owner to move it a week earlier as he was diagnosed with cancer.

Scooby was a 19YO golden retriever whom his owner, XY adopted when he was 15YO. Such big heart she had to adopt such a senior dog, and giving him an extra 4 years of blessed life, till the end 🤍

4 days after the shoot, I received the news from XY that Scooby was scheduled for his euthanasia 2 days later as his condition had worsened. At that point, my heart got heavy but glad we managed to get the shoot done, and that the news was broken to me only after I finished editing the photos. Otherwise I’m not sure how I can look at the photos and edit without tearing 🥺
-

XY’s sharing of Scooby with us:

“Scooby came to live with us 5 years ago, at the ripe old age of 15. His previous owner had given up on him. Our family took a chance and he gave us so much joy and love. We will always remember he came and allowed us to walk the last leg of this journey with him.”
-

Scooby was diagnosed with cancer, while exact type was not known, it was suspected to be melanoma for the face and another type for the internal organs. A 2nd opinion showed more signs of the big C in his organs hence his family had to make the tough decision to avoid the suffering for Scooby.

It was a great honour to meet you, Scooby. It’s not everyday we get to meet a 19YO dog, much more a GR 🙏🏻 Run free, and watch after your lil brother Mark and your family! 🌈

Too excited to wait for tomorrow to share!

We have a website! It was actually in work for a couple of months, and major thanks to KY’s friend, Alex for helping us to kick start this! I finally got to editing abit here and there, and while it’s still a basic layout, it’s usable already!

pawsintimesg.com

For families whom are in need of this service, you may submit a form in our website from now on 🙂 It will be under “Contact us”!

And unfortunately as previous posted in our IGS, the reality on forking out the transport fees ourselves has taken a toll on us. Hence to help us to be able to take up more (eligible) requests, we will have to charge a $50 fee per session to help offset a fraction of our transport fee, time and effort aside.

We previously asked what would be a good amount for you to pay, and majority voted for $50. While we understand some families may not be able to afford the fee, kindly let us know when you’re contacting us. We will be more than happy to waive it off as our ultimate priority is still being able to capture special last moments between owners and terminally ill or elderly pets 🙂 There will be no judgement, we promise! Unless of course, you’re taking advantage of us 🥲

We had also taken a break for a couple of months and will finally be shooting a couple of requests soon! Unfortunately after that, we will have to take a couple more months of break due to personal commitments 🙏🏻 However as usual, urgent requests will get priority! Do let us know, we will try to arrange asap 🤗

I absolutely love this photo taken by Furry Photos Pet Photography while we were shooting for our first ever fundraise shoot. If you want to know more about us, this photo tells you everything. El, the one usually shooting, KY, the more friendly one always breaking the ice and making you comfortable. Though the dog in photo was a passerby’s dog 👀

We had this sessjon with Lele, Yanisa and family in Oct 2022, and it’s already Mar 2023! 😅

If I’m not wrong, this family was the largest we’ve shot, yet! All of them loving Lele so much, he’s definitely one blessed boy 🥰

Lele turned 13YO last Dec, and is generally still healthy but his vision is starting to blur due to his cataracts. He's always been fussy with food, which is why he's so lanky, but has always been very active. In recent years he's definitely slowed down... especially after an incident last year dislocated his hip.

Here’s the other 6 out of 13 slots’ photos!

Both KY and I agreed that the 10 mins per slot pace was actually just right. We didn’t felt rushed at all (hope it’s the same for the families!) and for most slots, we still had time to ask the families if there’s any other shots they would want to try.

We think this is doable and would be happy to plan for a 2nd fundraise shoot again! But it will have to depend on the sign up rate 😶

Special thanks to for coming down to help us in the morning, from not only giving us guidance, but also to communicate with the families, telling them how to pose/where to position and making loud sounds to capture the pups’ attention to make the shooting go smoothly 🤣
sg for immediately agreeing to sponsor $5 evoucher for each slot booked 🙏🏻

for sponsoring treats and even customised the label stickers for us with our logo 😍

We are not any big account hence our reach is very minimal. So we really appreciate these businesses for chipping in purely as a good deed 🥹

And this concluded our very first fundraise initiative! We would like to think it’s a successful one! 😆 Big thank you to the families again for supporting and us! ❤️

Meanwhile, we will be getting back to our PIT shoots after much delay 🫣

On Saturday, we did our first ever fundraise concept shoots! This idea came to me suddenly and I proposed to KY about it and original plan was to have it done in Jun/Jul, but I got more and more excited about it and told her “how about the Saturday 2 weeks later” 😂

Our concern was if the turnout will be good because it likely is not exactly worth it for people to specially come down to a random venue just for a 10 mins shoot. We were aiming to have 20 slots filled to max out the money we can raise, and though we didn’t hit it, we still got 13 slots filled! This actually made us so happy already 🥹 We actually decided to have as the beneficiary for our first attempt at this initiate, and a couple of the families that signed up had adopted from them 🥺

Everyone was either early or on time for their slots, and we didn’t have any delays! We also actually managed to get more than 4 decent photos per slot which was originally planned and I just didn’t have the heart to choose only 3-4 for each family 😅 Thankful to everyone for being so cooperative! 🙏🏻

Since Instagram only allow 10 images per post, here’s 7 out of 13! It was really quite hard to choose one from each slot to share so we will likely post them again from time to time 😆

Part 1 of 2 on Shoot for Good

*actually we didn’t even had a good thinking on the project’s name. I only added as a temp on the draft and forgot to change it 🤫

Hello! We took a long break from the PIT shoots and to kick start ourselves back on track, we’ve decided to do a new initiative to benefit local shelter/rescue if we can!

We will be doing a fast shoot for a couple of hours on 25 Feb 2023 at one location with only 10 mins per slot at $50! You will get 3-4 4R size lightly edited digital images with watermark 😁

We decided on to be the selected shelter for the first attempt’s donation drive and hope we can hit the target of 20 slots filled! 85% of the proceed will go to them and 15% will be used to cover our transport and time 😀

Please read through the post if you’re interested or DM us!

Lastly, thank you sponsors for joining us on this good cause!:-

“When you guys asked me if Kobi is what is expected in a goldie, I answered “everything.. and more”. It came out so naturally and it’s really true! She’s my dream dog.”

Kobi is an almost twelve years old, adopted by Liv and very Manja from day one! She’s always been very good natured and sweet but crazy over tennis balls. Since young she likes to chew branches and sticks and even thick ones, and Kobi demonstrated her love for sticks during our shoot by playing with one 🤣

Age caught up with Kobi and she was diagnosed with osteoarthritis when she turned 10. Her movements slowed down a lot and it was very bad at a point where her hind legs would shiver and she would limp even after short distance. The vet gave her lifelong painkillers but we decided to try alternative meds and change of diet. 1.5 years on, both of them are still able to go on walks tho with bench rests and she still loves catching the tennis ball 🥹

We’re suddenly almost at the end of 2022! Unintentionally did a break in Dec to catch up with our lives, work and family and also since weather hasn’t been reliable for any shoot. Will be getting on getting back on the requests soon! Apologies in advance if we’re unable to accept your request and wont be getting back due to time constraint 🙏🏻

Meet Didi the Shih Tzu! 🐶

At 10 years old, Didi is an affectionate boy who is ageing gracefully into his golden years. Despite suffering from ailments like arthritis and hip dysplasia, Didi remains as playful and active as he can be. He even goes on walks thrice daily to keep his joints active! Some of his favourite activities include taking long afternoon naps with his pawrents, going on pawcations and even cafe hopping on weekends.

Unfortunately, Didi was diagnosed with glaucoma in 2021 and eventually lost his vision in his left eye. Against all odds, Didi pulled through his cycloablation surgery and made a full recovery. However, his lost eyesight could not be returned due to the permanent damage on the lens of his eye.

Thankfully, Didi remains joyful and continues to live life to the fullest every single day. He is deeply loved by his two owners, Hazel and Jun Jie, who are committed to giving him the best life possible till the end of time.

Almond, born in 2009 was delivered and then raised personally by his owner, L.

Since then, Almond grew with L, witnessing her graduating school, to dating and getting married, having two beautiful girls and finally moving to their new house together as a family.

And just like how L looked after Almond when he was young, Almond now looks after the girls as their loving big brother, watching them grow and wait for them to back from school everyday by the house gate ❤️

-
This session was, and is still our only void deck request as L wanted to capture the family at the place where they grew as a family and truthfully, I was quite worried about the result as the surroundings were definitely more challenging than being in parks and with ample sunlight. Additional challenge was having two really active girls in the shoot 🤣 but they gave us a lot of candids, and it was really great to see their genuine laughter in the photos 🥰 In the end, I think the subjects made the photos so much better, no matter where the session was shot at. Thank you L and family for the opportunity to try something new and also to meet your lovely family! 🥰

Sammi, also affectionately nicknamed as Mimi by her human is a 13.5YO Singapore Special (our first and only SS so far!) adopted 7 years ago.

Sammi had a growth in her mouth and was removed in a surgery a couple of months back. The test result came back as oral melanoma. Despite this, Sammi was really energetic and happy when we met them for the shoot!

Sammi’s biggest passion is food and she enjoys walks in serene/quiet places, and feeling the sun and breeze 🥰

We’re really glad Sammi and her human JX has and will be there for each other ❤️

And lastly (last photo), very true, Sammi! We all agree to your wise words! 😜

Samba is a 14YO retired K9 dog!

While she’s now unable to walk and needs to have her bladder manually cleared, she’s still a really active girl with superb appetite and still love to have some good fetching games 🤩

She’s also super blessed to have her great humans loving her, giving her all the extra care she needs daily with no complains. We got to know that due to her arthritis, it causes pain whenever she had to be moved and because of that, she has bitten her human dad multiple times out of reflex. Despite that he had to go A&E more than once for the wounds, he never blamed her and even defended her, saying she didn’t do it on purpose 🥹

Thank you Samba for serving the country, and really happy that you have the perfect retirement home! 🙏🏻

Taro, going 11YO in 3 days!

Happy birthday Taro! 🥳

It was my first time being up close with a German Shepherd and I was overwhelmed by how huge his head was when I was petting him. Felt so surreal because GSD is usually a breed I can only see from far, commonly used as K9s hence untouchable. And Taro made me fell in love with him by being such a gentle giant! He has come a long way with his adopted humans, and deserve no other better home ❤️

Thank you Serene, for giving us the opportunity to meet Taro 🥰

We spent a morning photographing Tobi and his pawrent, G. The bond between the two was beautiful and it was easy to tell how much G adores him and vice versa. Needless to say, we fell in love with the little boy by the end of the shoot. It was such a pleasure getting to know the two of them.

We learnt that Tobi passed away peacefully in his sleep a couple of days ago.

When we started the Paws In Time initiative, we knew what we signed up for. But yet, when the news came, our hearts still broke. A part of it aches for G for losing her soul mate, a part of it mourns for the loss of a little boy we had just gotten to know. But another part of us, is absolutely thankful that we managed to capture some photographs and we can only hope that it brings G some comfort during this time of loss.

A picture is worth a thousand words indeed, and this photo tells us the story of the bond between a girl and her dog.

Run free Tobi. It's never goodbye, but see you later.

Tobi, a 14YO handsome border collie.

Tobi was both a show and an agility dog before his spinal issue affected his mobility. Despite this, Tobi is still a really easily contented boy, so happy with a simple outing with his human, Gillian for our shoot session. He enjoyed the wind by the river, and lying on the grass patch so much that he protested to be carried up by his human when it was time to go 😂

Gillian ended up staying at the park with him for extended outing time after the shoot to let him enjoy himself more 🥰

Thank you Gillian and Tobi for the opportunity to photograph you two ❤️
