Well it’s obvious that 505 is ‘s Moo-Crush-Monday😏👀🥰

We pulled 520 this week for lameless. 🐂🥺

520 showed level 1 lameness for 2 days. We decided to wait it out and unfortunately the level 1 lameness became a level 2 lameness🥺
We decided to pull him so that we can examine his claws to check if there is a lesion and if we were able to treat it before it caused an ascending infection.

Luckily there was no lesion and we concluded that the cause of the lameness was most likely just a muscle injury due to the bulls playing 🙏🏻

We gave him some Rimadyl SC.
We will keep an eye on him 👀and hopefully he will be back to his old self in no time🎉🐂🤗❤️

On Thursday it was mixing and weighing day!!⚖️🥄🚜

Let me tell you, mixing, shovelling and packing 4 tons of feed is NO joke😮‍💨🥵
But when we saw the GAINZ out boytjies made, it was all worth it😏
How much do you guys think our average weight when up?

💡Hint: we started at an average weight of 295.5kg for the herd and there were 2 weeks of feeding between the 2 weighing days

So, we had a bit of a scare on Friday😱Our big boy 504 was lame in his right front limb🤒🤕🥺so we decided to pull him. The means he is taken out of the herd and places in the crush for further investigation🕵🏼‍♂️ans treatment💉💊
It is important to investigate the cause of lameness, especially because of the muddy kraal due to all the rain Onderstepoort had.⛈

After putting our boy in the krush, our kraal manager Michelle (The Knot Pro) tied the limb so that we could examine his limb.🪢
We determined that the cause of lameness is abrasion and started treatment so that our boytjie can walk comfortably in no time! ✅

Treatment:
- We cleaned the claw and applied F10 ointment 🧽🧼🧴
- Rimadyl SC (To treat his pain) 💉
- Duplocillin IM (An antibiotic)💉

All and all we are happy with how the treatment went and we are sure to have our big boy back to his happy and healthy self in no time🐂🐮

Another day, another case solved by die baby vets🦸🏼‍♂️🦸🏿🦸‍♀️🦸🏾‍♂️👩🏼‍⚕️🧑🏿‍⚕️👨🏽‍⚕️
