Front pasture crew this evening
Rescuing older horses that need rehabilitation, a soft landing, and a retirement home from kill pens and auction houses.
We do extend our efforts to all livestock animals when possible. Adoptions are possible on a case-by-case basis.

The boys got some carrots this afternoon on lunch, and Phantom hasn't lost his fly mask yet. I'm happy to see it's still on him with this heat. I don't want his nose to get burned again 😢
Phantom had some spectators this morning while he was eating breakfast 😅
It was just one of those Mondays for Apollo earlier this week
Girls enjoying dinner and a farm dog taking a quick drink in the back 😅
Hide and Seek with Cookie 🫣
Thanks to for coming out for the Mares last night for their 5 week pedicure!
The horse stock has finally arrived!
Caught the love birds napping yesterday morning together on the 4th! 😍
You could say all my horses are in a row 😅
Aang just can't even wait 😅
Caught Raven having a sweet moment this morning with Phantom in the back pasture ❤️
The hay was baled yesterday late morning, and we were able to get 7.25 bales!! The guy was very nice and even talked to us about coming back to lime and fertilize our ENTIRE property.
He said we had really nice grass, but we really needed to get it fixed up for hay production. He was talking about us possibly getting 25-30 bales from the entire property (including the three pastures), and that was exciting to hear!
I'll definitely keep yall posted on this hay production adventure. Hopefully, we're able to fully use this property like we wanted to, even with all the animals still on pasture! 😊
Sent a total of 73 messages to recommend individuals or companies to get our hay cut and baled. Over 90% of them saw the message and just completely ignored it. Others said that it wasn't worth their time, even though I offered to pay a minimum, and others were no longer in the area and wouldn't be back until the 2nd/3rd cutting.
I finally went onto the facebook marketplace and messaged this guy who, at first, didn't want to bother since it was under 10 acres. He then got a job a mile down the road and reached back out and said he'd be willing to come cut and bale for us since he was in the area.
Living out in the country has definitely been a learning experience. You come across people who don't want to work, and then when they do, they either 1. Do a half ass job and don't really care or 2. They take your check (because most don't do cashapp/venmo/zelle) and then wait 6+ weeks before cashing it after they complained they didn't have any work and money was tight 🥴
I'm glad the universe answered my plea to find someone willing to come do our small patch of grass for the horses. Ever 4 or 5 bales makes a difference when hay bales can go for $175 or more throughout the year.
Phantom is truly the unicorn of the farm 🦄
Caught these goobers last night right at the front of the pasture. ❤️
Caught the whole front pasture herd snoozing this morning 😴
Lunchtime fun time with the front pasture herd!
We had a first-time rider out today during lunch. She really enjoyed Phantom, and Phantom was such a sweet boy for her! 😊
It's hot, it's humid, it's nice to have some breakfast before staying in the shade for the rest of the day
The front pasture crew are really happy to be in the front section again! 🥳
We've had sunshine for 2ish days and it's going bye bye tomorrow night and then for four days of rain 🫠
Man, Apollo's glow up is 🔥
The boys did not know what to think of Porkchop the Berkshire pig 😅
Pedicure day for Apollo and Odin this morning! Thank you
Everyone has learned their grain spot 🙏
Hay delivery thanks to Robert 🤠
From Saturday
Feeding the herd this morning was a task. No one listens, everyone eats everyone else's food, and god forbid you say "no" to one of them 🙄 throwing tantrums like 2 year olds, even the cows were in on the shenanigans
We have everyone closed off in the back section of the front pasture and put out our remaining hay bale for them, which will be demolished before lunch. Everyone seemed in good spirits, and I see no injuries on my three old men who swam across the back pasture yesterday to safety. When I saw swam, I mean it. The water was over their backs. 😭

Lilith was not a fan of our farrier visiting today. Cody from Rockin' H&H Farm - Farrier handled her perfectly; even with her stomping like a child. She did eventually let him pet her 😅
I've made a lot of progress this weekend with Aang. I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, but I'm doing my best at trying to provide them with the best life. I know many people think I'm nuts or a bit crazy for thinking I could turn a livestock Longhorn into a pet - but luckily for me I live in crazy. Hello, I broke Lilith. Breaking that horse has given me a lot of fake confidence I tell you what. 😂 Sometimes I think my husband should learn to have a firm 'no' with me. Now I'm about to f**k around and find out . . . . . #horsesanctuary #longhorns #longhorncattle #longhorncalves #newtocattle #babycow #steer #steers #f**karoundandfindout #halterbreaking #halterbreakingcalves #petcow #livestock #rubbing #scratching #ihavenoideawhatimdoing #thekirbyherd
It's raining 🌧 What a welcome home party for my demon cow. On a side note, Odin was taken out of the pasture after this video and placed into one of the stalls out of the rain. We dried him off and blanketed him, and gave him food and water for the time being. It's 55 degrees here at the farm, and Odin was shaking like a leaf. A concern we hadn't, but didn't expect it to be happen in the mid-50s. We will be checking on him every hour to make sure he is completely dry before he will be let back out with the herd. He can't regulate his heat, so it's important that we always keep a watchful eye on him getting into the colder months.
Lilith is officially home for the first time EVER. No more boarding barns, no more nights with the trainer, no more transporting for the time being. She's HOME. This is her first time here. First time meeting Apollo. First time being back with her herd, in the rain, and it went better than expected. No issues unloading from the trailer, no issues walking in the rain, no issues being released into the pasture! 🤯 Now the real fun begins. The herd is complete 💖
