Liquid Kitty lost a family member last night.

I met Halo when I was working for a rescue a few years back. As an FeLV positive kitty, she had to be quarantined away from the other cats. The only available space was a phone-booth sized enclosure.

There she stayed for months on end, only getting a bit of attention from the staff on their way out the door. After an extended cuddle visit one night, I couldn't take it anymore and made a call to my best friend.

"Tam, you gotta foster this cat. You've got the space, and she just needs a place to crash for a while. I promise it's temporary. You can bring her back whenever you want."

Needless to say, she didn't bring her back. Instead, they became best friends, and Tami adopted her. She took Halo everywhere - to the lake, on location, to her hotels. Hell, Halo has more frequent flyer miles than most people I know.

When Tami couldn't take her along, we took care of her.

Her final adventure ended in New Orleans, where she spent her last days in Tami's makeup trailer. She took her leave last night, and along with it, a little piece of our heart.
