We’ve been quiet because we’ve been dealing with a lot. It’s been almost 8 months since we lost the top tweedle in our clan. It doesn’t get any easier.

Here are Meowm’s words she struggled to find:

How do you describe the indescribable? The tacit connection that from start to finish held you together yet completely changed you at the same time?

From the moment I saw his adorable face, I knew I’d never be the same. I never will be.

This is the story of Hpnotiq or Tiqi, as most of you have known him. After months of perusing adoption sites, I stumbled upon a 4-week old bundle of fluff that was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Tennessee. Siamese Rescue nursed him to health after a sickly start, and I drove hours to pick him up after several legs of transportation. He’d been silent throughout the duration of travel, but as soon as he saw me, he began singing and climbed out to my shoulder. He knew.

I was his. He was mine.

For 13.5 years, he’s remained my constant companion, and never-ending source of entertainment and laughter. My best friend.

Late July, we said our temporary goodbyes. His body was tired of fighting the myriad of health issues we’ve been quietly contending with. His soul finally agreed.

To know him is to love him, whether it’s through the stories of his antics, or from experiencing my heart kitty and his sour patch personality in person. Every individual he touched fell under his spell.

We’ve had a little saying in our house that accurately portrays our boy and his journey:
“Straight from Heaven.. Pit stop in Hell... Bypass through Tennessee".

And now back. 👼🏼
