In light of the recent COVID-19 the DWC felt it necessary to address the upcoming spring draft test schedule. We want to provide everyone included - clubs, judges, exhibitors - enough latitude to do what’s best while taking into account any federal, state, local, and venue restrictions.
Clubs should feel empowered to decide whether or not to hold approved tests and should abide by any and all federal, state, local, and venue restrictions. So far, draft tests are smaller than restrictions posed, however some venues may cancel events. If the club needs to change dates or location, or make other changes, they must first contact at least one of the DWC co-chairs (Jennifer Brightbill or Julie Bacon). If clubs must cancel, an approved representative must contact each entrant personally.
Judges should feel empowered to decide whether or not to travel to draft test assignments. If a judge must cancel, they need to contact both the club and at least one of DWC co-chairs (Jennifer Brightbill or Julie Bacon) preferably before close of entries so a replacement judge may be identified.
Exhibitors should use their judgement when entering and exhibiting at a test. If an exhibitor decides to pull, they may do so up to five (5) days before with a full refund of entry fees. However, because clubs will have incurred expenses (judge travel, rentals, etc.), exhibitors are encouraged (but not required) to forgo the refund and consider it a donation to the club.
These guidelines shall be revised as new information becomes available and posted to this page.
