We are 2 travellers ( Mickell and Lisa ) who got 'stuck' in thailand during the corona pandemic. After the lockdown we moved to krabi, a beautiful area with a big straycat problem... And there it happened. (See chapter 1)
The goal of this fundraiser is to find the money to take our kitten 'Noedels' home with all the right medical procedure
Therefore we need:
-3000 bath/85 euro for hospitalisation
(sterilisation, vaccinations, rabies , rabies booster, titter test, check up)
-6500 bath / 185 euro for transportation agency 'Relo4paws'
+-200 euro for flyticket ( depending which airline)
( if there is money left, this will be donated to "Koh Lanta Animal Welfaire" which is doing a great job helping strays)
Chapter1 : He adopted us 😊
While we where checking in a bungalow park, a little furry ball of cuttenes frinkeled his fury body between lisa her feet. Our harts was allready sold, on that very moment ❤
After a difficult conversation with the Thai workers there we found out that he was wandering around there for just 2 days and they had no clue where the mommy cat would be. Also they made clear they had no resources for medical treatment or decent catfood so they gave him only rice and tapwater. It was verry clear this kitten was heavy underfed , to young to be away from the mother (4-5weeks) and it had diarrea. We arranged with the workers we would take the kitten in our bungalow to take care of it. Which was against the rules buth for this time they made a exeption. 🙏
On that very same day we baptised him "noedels" 🐱,we went for decent food, made a kittylitter and made a appointment with a vet the next day. We loved him right away so there also started the question... what is best for this kitten ? We reached out to expat locals, doctors and Koh Lanta welfare to gain info and a possible home for him. It was very clear that due to the exodus of tourism by covid, many cats and dogs became homeless again, did not find enough food, or where left behind to pick them up when borders would re-open. So... the streets and potential home's where already overcrowded. Chapter3 : thai kitty, belgian kitty
As the time passed, our relation with noedels became more intens and altough we know that thai cats and dogs where overall much much more nicer and smarter than in europe... he became a wonderboy for us 🦄. So after a lot of research we found the procedure how we could get him home. Which is:
-Microship
-Rabies vacc ( minimum 12 weeks old)
-30 days wait
-Booster vacc
-30 days wait
-Titter test
-3 months wait
-Boarding with an agency
This procedure made that we had to stay in Thailand 6 months longer and to take a expensive visa. But so it will be. We get a lot of recognition from lots of expats and locals here because everybody knows the problem here with stray's. Also this give's much confident to find a way to do the right thing...
We sincerely hope we wil find a way to take him home to Belgium and give him a beautiful life ! Thank you for your help!
