Whenever it snows more than a couple of inches, the pigs make one path to the barns and spend most of their time hiding in their straw in their barn. I can't blame them because being so short to the ground snow is cold on their bellies! But the funniest part about this is when there are pigs and/or goats going to the big barn at the same time pigs and/or goats are going to the pig barn, they create an impass and stand there in a line (because none of them will deviate from the path) until someone decides to back up to let the other ones through. It's really comical. Pigs have such funny personalities. ❤️

I saw a post of a bunch of weird Victorian Christmas cards and this was one of them. I'm not sure what's up with the ball I assume to be dung (🤷🏻‍♀️) with a face but without a doubt, this is 1000% accurate of how geese would act, kicking someone while they're already down. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Having a farm when it's 4°F and snow covered sucks, mostly because I constantly worry about if I've done enough to keep everyone warm so they're not suffering in these awful conditions (and yeah, having to feed and water them isn't pleasant either). Ready for the warm weather to come back. 😕

Well today these two goobers went to their new home at a non profit farm where they will become educational ambassadors!

As you may recall, I was housing these guys for my helper Josh. The intention was to let them live on my farm until his family was situated on their own farm sometime in the future. He works at a non profit farm that has an education group that wanted to get some pigs but wasn't sure where to get them from. Josh offered the piglets to them and they are so excited to have them. These guys are perfect for this venture because we made sure to work with them as tiny babies and get them used to snuggles, so they take food well and love pets (they did however try to change Sheriff Toaster's name but Josh's wife put the kabash on that which I was happy to hear because I love silly name and it fits well because he's a silly piggy).

Josh is excited because now he will get to see his piggies more and they will be more spoiled than they are here. Lucky piggies. ❤️ Enjoy your new lives Oreo and Sheriff Toaster!

Trying to do projects with chickens around is always fun. Every time we'd pick up a board, they'd jump on it and wouldn't get off. 🙄

Oh! And it appears the cat I planted is finally blooming! 🤣🤣🤣

10 years ago I brought this little nugget home with her two sisters to foster them and find them good homes. Her sisters found homes quickly but she was still hanging around when Dave McKay and I started dating. He fell in love with her, so I let him take her home.

Wren was super sweet but boy was she a successful escape artist. As a baby she would find the smallest gap in any fence or gate and squeeze out. As an adult, she did the exact same thing. Dave was constantly mending the fences and putting in dig barriers to keep her from taking unauthorized field trips. She was slow to do anything else. Dave liked to put her in the truck and take her to Lowe'so or get donuts on random mornings. She loved people and loved the attention. She was definitely his little buddy.

Several months ago I took her in to get a lump removed that turned out to be cancer. Pre-surgery blood work showed her liver was not functioning properly so they couldn't perform surgery. They best we could do was keep her comfortable until it was time. The last couple of weeks she was obviously struggling. She stopped eating her regular food but was eating wet food. She'd go outside but then lay in random hiding places in the yard and wouldn't come in. She was struggling to walk. I was planning to make that phone call to the vet but tonight after she came back into the house she crossed the rainbow bridge. 🌈 😢😢😢

Run free baby girl, you have plenty of pups waiting for you. I know Dave will be so happy to have you back in his arms. ❤️

The week of the 4th is always vet week for the dogs. It is multiple trips over 2 days with multiple dogs. Nikola turned a corner and for the first time since she was spayed behaved at the vet. Not once did she get grumpy with them or growl. She was so well behaved, she made me proud. 🥹

Capone on the other hand is old and grumpy. He grumbled a little but we were still able to get him all checked out. He's 14 now and it's likely this will be his last regular trip to the vet. It sucks that I was looking at him and this realization hit me. He still gets around ok but his age and size means he's just getting closer to the inevitable. 😭

The pigs and goats got to have veggie fruit day! I had time this week to get to Jungle Jim's and hit their discount fruit and veggie rack. It's amazing how many things I can get on the cheap that's still in great condition. Sheriff Toaster the piglet went nuts on the bananas as he always does, he takes them and runs off with it so Oreo can't get them. He's very comical with those bananas. 🍌❤️🐷🐽🐖

This guy was SUPER unhappy about being put in the crate to go get his cotton balls chopped off. He screamed bloody murder the minute I got him in the crate til the time the vet took him out (it was LOUD). But when the vet went to put him in their cage, he flipped out and took off, started scaling walls, scratching vet techs, getting stuck on a really high cabinet, and somewhere in the process he declawed himself of one nail. They did finally get him situated and were able to get the cotton balls taken care of, closed up his toe and gave him an antibiotic. When I picked him he screamed the whole way home. This guy is such a turd. I just hope he will be nice to the other freeloaders now.

Today we tried a banana. Sheriff Toaster was a huge fan (you can see he's got a little on the sides of his mouth LOL). He kept climbing in my lap to get to the banana in my hand. Oreo was also very interested but she's not as much of a climber as her brother so she politely ate hers next to me. I'm working on teaching them how to eat from hands without chomping off parts of the hand, which is practice for all parties. Even though these guys toofers are still pretty small, it doesn't mean they won't pack a punch!

They are doing really well with all the handling. Sheriff Toaster likes all cuddles and Oreo prefers not to be touched on the head, but seems fine anywhere else. Fair enough girly. They sure are are cute. 🥰

So this Samson. He's been hanging around the house for many months, but just recently stated "asking" me for food. I know he's been eating food out of the outdoor cats bowls during the day because I could see him on my camera. Then he started coming up to me when I'd go outside and meow at me and I'd give him food and he was happy. He lets me get close to him, almost pets but not quite.

People are convinced it's Dave sending me cats. He should really stop. I don't need anymore. I really really really don't.
