Looks like Rose has settled in with 6 pups. 3 males and 3 females. All seem strong and mom is doing well. Fingers crossed that it continues!

Lost Creek headed west to the UKC Nationals. Justin handled Lost Creek Slim Shady, only 3 days of running prior due to a stick lodged in his neck, and didn’t have any luck. Justin also handled Lost Creek Biggie Ballsworth to a cast win on Friday. He also handled him in a cast on Saturday but didn’t win that cast. Friday’s cast win allowed him to advance to the final 16 today. Biggie came up a little short in that cast today but super proud of how he competed all weekend. Wyatt couldn’t skip school so we threw Lost Creek Stunning Sophia both rounds on Saturday. She came up a little short in the morning round but handled her business in the late round. Unfortunately it wasn’t good enough to make it to the final 16. Super proud of these 3 young dogs. Lost Creek Hammering Hallie is officially retired from trials and Johnson’s Dominating Dot and Lost Creek Rambling Rose are both pregnant and are due in 7 and 10 days. They clearly got the weekend off. Until next time!

First litter up this season is due in 10 days. Johnson’s Dominating Dot x Roggens Buck. Excited to see how many she has and what they become in the future. If interested in any let us know, there may be a couple still not spoken for.

Pretty proud of Wyatt and Rose. We certainly don’t trial as much as others, but we do plenty and just try to have some fun with it. This weekend Wyatt handled Rose to another cast win, which made her a Grand Champion in UKC. These 2 share a cool bond and she has certainly taught him a lot about beagling and trials!

Headed to Ohio then to WV. Got 2 females in heat and taking them to their suitors. Should be a fun spring with some dandy pups on the ground!

Probably my favorite running day today my plan was to take Sophia out solo. Wyatt asked if he could take Rose out solo. He’s only 12 so that’s a big step in the right direction!

SOLD. Hunts good with company. Very honest mouth. Upper medium to fast. Not rough. Claims good in a check and rolls out fast. Good mouth. No issues with off game and handles great.

Threw all 4 down last night, Dot, Rose, Sophia and Blanche. Never saw the rabbit at the first crossing but the 7 month old Blanche was showing the way. Can’t wait to see these 4 this fall.

What do you all do to manage your seasoned dogs in the kennel? I have a 4 and 3 year old that aren’t getting as much time as my 9 and 6 month old. I usually run 3-5 times a week and my attention seems to go to the pups. Just wanted to see what others have done as this is new for me.

Sitting here with the same 2 dogs, 2 nights later and they are struggling to put anything decent together. Got to take the good with the bad.

Dot has come in heat. Decided to take her to Aaron Motto’s male dog Bandit. This should be a great cross and certain has the potential to produce some quality dogs.

No new pictures due to the rain, but picked up the next female for Jeremy. Welcome Blanche! The Golden Girls are now complete. Let’s hope her and Sophia earn their place this spring! Big thanks to Alex Bitzer with Broken Gun Beagles for the opportunity to grab her from him.

Lots of ice with a small layer of snow. Girls jumped 3 and ran so so. Circled this one for my buddy. This is his farm and has been talking about seeing a bunch of rabbits. I feel this spring will be fun here! Been cold here, but today it warmed up to 12 degrees and the wind settled. They were excited to get out for sure!

First check on the girls, they are good. Insulated boxes from Kings Manufacturing and some hay, they seem warm and happy. Heated bucket is doing its job and they have water. Temp started at 31 degrees at 6am and is currently 2 degrees.
