This female duck has been hiding for a little while in a very small rabbit hutch that we didn’t use for our rabbits, when she finally decided to come out of it she surprised us with 6 beautiful duckings. Our male Muscovy looks nothing like her, they don’t seem to be of the same duck species, I guess they managed to overlook their differences for the sake of having these cuties 😊.

This Ayam Cemani little hen decided to go broody about 3 weeks ago, she carefully choose a warm place inside a tent where we keep our animal feeds, and diligently sat on 14 eggs, she’s a size of a bantam hen. Yesterday at least 7 of her eggs hatched and she’s still sitting on some eggs that will probably become little Ayam Cemani chicks today or tomorrow. There was an incident between her and another little hen that was nosy and came too close to her babies, she fiercely defended them and literally bilinded the intruder who’s currently in a bad shape🤕😢. I expect these chicks to be well taken care of and will certainly be safe with their fiercely loving super mama 😍💕

Sheep fleece processing, never done it before but getting the hang of it thanks to YouTube university 😀.
Learning new creative activities is highly recommended for people over 50 as it stimulates the brain to create new pathways, thus stay sharp and active. It also combats stress, keeps a playful mind and improvs cognitive abilities.

Meal time: little Pavlova spent her first two days having no clue how to get milk from her mama, we had to help her with some yucky reconstituted milk that she hated with all her taste buds and in no time she figured out how to become a pro mama’s milk sucker 😀

Look at this cute little face ❣️“D’artania- Pavlova “ also had to spend a night with us after we noticed that her mama seemed worried about her and was trying to get her to move from a little corner where she spent most of the day yesterday. We tried to help her mama feed her but her sucking was too weak and she was very lethargic ( maybe because of a combination of an inexperienced mama and still cold temperatures) . She received the same royal treatment as her friends, reconstituted colostrum every 3 hours, some electrolytes and this morning milk replacer after she gradually pricked up through the night.
We returned her to mama today, we hope that she will soon be strong enough to breastfeed exclusively, until then we will top up with some formula to help her grow and gain strength

Graduated to the barn with Tiramisù as I‘m now 3 weeks old, doubled my birth weight and I don’t need a bottle during the night anymore. Not sure if I should really call this a graduation: I hate it, my human mama is no where to be seen, Tiramisù is annoying and tries to steal my bottle, it’s cold in here and I can’t even play with my little ball. My human Mama feels really bad for me, but I need to learn sheep life for when I become adult.
I should have stayed small, growing is no fun 😒.

We each have a baby lamb to raise 😀here’s Tiramisu, our tough boy, his mama rejected him, but my husband manages to hold her until this stubborn little one gets at least two good feeds from her per day, he also gives him homogenised milk to top up the feeds.
Tiramisu spent his first night in the house as we didn’t wanted him to suffer from hypothermia and hunger, after that we put him with his mama, he spends the nights chasing her without success to get some milk 🥲, but at least she doesn’t mind him being around her. He’s now 7 days old and is promising to become a strong Ram.

First day at herd school, all by myself. So scary 😱, I got bullied ( head butted) by a goat and an older ewe. Not fun at all, prefer to stay very close, actually too close to my human mama 😀

Our sweet Popcorn is now 17 days old, we are slowly transitioning her to her natural life with the rest of the herd, her instincts are amazing: she already started eating grass and hay and she feels at ease among the sheep although she doesn’t go too far from me. She’s such a sweet little thing, very vigorous and playful 💕.

After the successful rescue of our first little lamb warrior “Popcorn”, Mother Nature decided that we need to keep at it and sent us another little fighter. His name is “Tiramisu “, he’s a chubby little boy with a large head that got stuck out his mama’s womb for a while, we pulled him out with great difficulty and thought he wouldn’t make it, his mama was in shock after this difficult delivery and didn’t care for him. He was barely breathing, we decided to give him a chance to survive: heat, an ounce of electrolytes and an ounce of reconstituted Colostrum were enough to revive him. We took him inside, he’s slowly getting better and stronger, taking his bottles well, Popcorn is also at the rescue licking him and encouraging him to keep fighting to live ( Animals are natural empaths 💕).
We will put him back with his mama in the morning hopefully she will take care of him now that she had some rest .

I guess all our female sheep are pregnant, we didn’t want to assume they were because it’s rude 😀. This new mama looks pregnant all the time, this morning she lambed this big almost all black kit ( all our males are white) , we don’t know if she’s done lambing yet but she’s very happy and is doing a wonderful job as a mama.
When I watch our animals I admire how much they’re in tune with Mother Nature, the kidding seasons coincide with the most abundant and mildest months of the year, they’re certainly not stupid creatures if anything they’re beautiful souls who are emotionally intelligent and highly intuitive 💕.

Little Grace ( Popcorn), spent the night at my bathroom, she took her bottles and was cute and well behaved. I put on my lamb sleepers on to keep her company 😉, In the morning she was a little more vigorous so we decided to put her back with her mama and see how it goes, mama started licking her right away and seems gentle with her, hopefully the bond will intensify overtime, we have the camera on to watch them just in case . I really had a fun experience as a Lamb foster mom for one day 💕

Meet 💫Little grace 💫 ( nickname Popcorn) our early spring surprise baby lamb, we weren’t sure if our mama sheep were pregnant or not as they all look pregnant towards the end of winter, this morning one of them surprised us with two kits, the first one died unfortunately and this one is very small and has meconium all over her fur, we took her inside as her mama doesn’t seem to be interested in feeding her ( hopefully she will change her mind later), she took the bottle very well and starting to perk up. Quite a fun morning 😀
