Sadly we won't have puppies this time. Rua is fine 🙂 and we'll have to try again unfortunately 😕 I was so looking forward to babies aswell but all is good and hopefully next time, we'll get lucky.. 🥰

Olliver - Tribute to a life cut short

2 days ago, a volunteer went to NJ to pick up an abandoned exotic-looking merle French Bulldog with strikingly beautiful eyes being surrendered by a good Samaritan. We were told he was a young and healthy adult.

Upon arrival, our volunteer was presented with an 8-10 month-old puppy who was unable to walk. A trip to AMC confirmed that Olliver had no use of all 4 of his legs and there was no surgery that can make him walk. The doctors at AMC suggested he be put to sleep. We were all blindsided. The volunteer took him home and yesterday morning went to see another Vet.

Unfortunately, the second vet concurred with AMC. With no quality of life, the rescue made a very difficult decision, to set Olliver free.

He left this world showered with love and attention: gourmet meals, countless hugs, kisses, and belly rubs. The staff at the Vet gave him chocolate and a cupcake.

This is what happens to the abnormal, disfigured, deaf, blind puppies that are a by-product of producing a handful of Merle FB puppies healthy enough to live a normal life. Merle is not natural in French Bulldogs and it is a result of genetic modification. In addition to the color, it is linked to heart disease, disfigurement, spine deformities, blindness, deaf…list goes on. The same goes for “fluffy” Frenchies, teacup Frenchies, Mexican Frenchies and such. They are obscenely expensive because a lot of them die before they are sold. French Bulldogs are challenged enough as a breed and adding any new genes is a disaster. Please do not support breeders who have no regard for the health and well-being of their dogs. We need to do better for this breed; their lives literally depend on it.

RAPESEED! ❌
It’s that time of year again where farmers fields have blossomed into pretty yellow flowers, these plants are called rapeseed. Although it may be tempting to place your dog in the mist to take a scenic photo, please avoid this at all costs!

Rapeseed is extremely poisonous for dogs, especially in highly sensitive canines.

Rapeseed is listed by Dogs Trust as toxic to our dogs if ingested and can cause symptoms such as:

❌Haemolytic Anaemia
❌ Blindness
❌ Damaged Nervous System
❌ Digestive Disorders
❌ Breathing Problems

Even walking through these fields should be avoided!

Please seek immediate veterinary attention if your dog shows any signs of rapeseed poisoning

💔💔 We have thought long and hard about this and we think we have to help 💔💔

We are going to organise a collection for the people and pets of Ukraine.

Right now we have to try figure out how to get it over to them but for now we will be looking for wet food only as it's easier to transport.

If anyone knows of any transport available please tag us and we will get in contact.
