One of our babies is currently looking for a new home as his current one isn’t working out the best. Vinny (previously Loki) is 7 months, neutered, microchipped and UTD on all shots. If you are looking for a new family member please message me so we can chat about his needs!
What an adventure! Ben and I have been talking a lot about how crazy the past couple months have been and how we will look back at this time fondly.
The birth was definitely the biggest roller coaster. A long whelping pause will do that to you. Then came the sleepless nights when Ben and I switched off who was staying awake to watch babies and mama. During this time we were also spoon feeding Willow almost anything we could get her to eat to keep up with milk supply for those 9 little dumplings.
We moved the whelping box from the dining room to the living room to the kitchen. We worried about clipping & filing nails, making sure mama didn’t sit on babies, mastitis, weighing babies daily then weekly. We did early neurological stimulation with them daily for the first couple weeks. We had to be sure to make mush in enough advance so that it was soft by the time they needed to eat (4-5x/day). Reading, so much reading and research — and just trial and error. Figuring out the best way to mold your life around 9 puppies is full of constant movement because they don’t stop growing while you’re figuring it out.
I’m SUPER proud of Willow. She’s been such a great mama and even though I didn’t think I could lover her any more, I do after all of this. She’s such a trooper and has been so fun to watch through all of this.
It’s been FUN. Soooo much FUN. And yes, I would do it again - but not ANYTIME soon. I’m glad that we can stop ordering 100 # food a week from Chewy now. I’m glad that there is no longer a litter area in my kitchen (THANK YOU BEN for getting that all out so quick!). We had so much fun watching the excitement of all the families taking home one of these bundles of joy. It honestly felt like an early Christmas. I’m excited to see how they all grow in their new homes with their new people!
We still have one boy who is looking for his new family. I think whoever gets Bucky will be pretty lucky but I have no problem loving on him until that family is found!
I sure am going to miss waking up to all these sweet faces. They have brought so much joy to us these past 7 weeks. I’ve been soaking it up as much as possible and will continue to do so in the next few days!
We got nails clipped today and got microchips done. We also received our lamb chop stuffed squeakers that will be going home with each pup so they can have a bit of mama and brother/sister smell with them 💕

We had a ton of fun outside yesterday just romping around the yard and checking out all the sticks & leaves. Aunt Ruby even came out to help wrangle us up, we’re just about as big as her chubby butt!
We now have Arlo instead of Stephen and Kane instead of Bruce. If you want to claim one of these other cuties for your own and rename them, they will be ready to go home next weekend — feel free to message us!
When you have pumpkins and puppies you have to TRY to put the puppies in the pumpkins, right?? Those pumpkins just weren’t big enough 😂

We were able to get these babes outside yesterday for the first time and had so much fun! Unfortunately it’s going to be rainy the next couple days so we will most likely be staying warm and dry inside for awhile. Figured I’d post a few pics of not only the pups but some of my favorites of mom and dad. Enjoy! 🐾💕🐾💕
These cuties were all vet-checked yesterday and all have a clean bill of health! First shots went perfectly and they can start going to their new homes in less than two weeks!

Pups are definitely getting big - Bruce weighed in at 17lbs today! They’re loving their real food but will still beg for mama. I think Willow is just about done with feeding them and I don’t blame her. She’s been such a champ… these pups have had teeth for 3 weeks! I couldn’t imagine!
We have a vet coming on Monday for their checkups and shots and hoping after that we can get them outside for some adventures. Hopefully Iowa weather will cooperate!

These cutie pies are a bit sleepy this morning after being escape artists. Ben and I were quite surprised when we opened our bedroom door to see puppies just prancing around the living room. I quickly counted to 9 and then was able to relax. I guess we have more puppy proofing to do today!
