Two weeks old today and SO responsive. It’s really important for their development to interact and handle them lots in the first few weeks - plus I just adore them 💕 (Grandma is my mum-in-law, taken specially for her update)

This is Sherlock. He is an amazing, loving, healthy hard case big boy whose owners are heartbreakingly having to rehome him. He 9 years old, NZCF registered and is a blue silver tabby with white. He is on good terms with the neighbourhood cats and hangs out in all the yards (I mistakenly said he lived on a lifestyle block - not so) but it might be easier for him to move into a home without other pets. “Helping” me bake today

Fizzgig is doing really well. It has been an incremental but steady improvement. He is having subcutaneous fluids every 2 days (moving to every 3rd day from tomorrow) and on daily meds as well. He had a fair amount of hair fall out around his neck but he had a little to spare 😊. He has decided my bed is for recuperating on rather than his usual place with his mama (my daughter). Trying to worki out why cats do things can do your head in 🤣

After a couple of days on a drip Fizzgig is having meds at home and going in for treatment every couple of days. We are cautiously optimistic. He is not moving far but enjoying his mama (my daughter) brushing his beautiful tummy 🧡

Fizzgig is our darling moggy, an honorary MC. Last week he developed acute kidney failure. Unlike chronic kidney failure, acute failure can sometimes be reversed if treated promptly… we are hoping so…just picking him up from the vet 🧡
