Today I received a guilty verdict from Animal Control for animal neglect on my dogs for them being outside in our fenced yard with supervision by my husband and child because I was at work. They knew I was at work because of how much they have harassed me that they know when I teach. Apparently my husband is not a functioning adult to care for the dogs while he works from home. Also the fact that we have cameras on the dogs at all times wasn't sufficient. The letters from our Veterinarian showing our wellness plans for our dogs and their perfect health was also not necessary because a neighbor who has tattled on the ENTIRE neighborhood for ridiculous things such as parking a boat, trailer, too long of grass, garbage on porch, etc., said they felt bad for our dogs who look "bored" in our yard. The same neighbors are responsible for giving multiple other neighbors fines throughout the neighborhood with the HOA. So, with the $1500 fee to animal control and now this on my record (because they refused to tag it to my husband who was home watching the dogs), it is very easy for me to walk away from all of this and be done. Animal Control is a corrupt organization who pays the Humane Society to take away their problems. The Humane Society puts dying animals back out on the street as part of their "release" program to keep their death count numbers down. We have found a few of their "releases" who were not only suffering but terminal. These are the people that are working for you. Stop giving them money. Make them accountable. Try to get your pets spayed and neutered. I know it is difficult because the people that are supposed to be helping you are actually working against you. I am so sorry.

The rescue is closed for intakes. Until we can hire more people and get more volunteers and fosters we cannot continue to take in kittens. Most of our community has been amazing and supportive. It appears we might have gone with the wrong name as we keep attracting some interesting people. The most recent was by someone who adopted a kitten over 2 months ago who found a flea on his kitten and said we lied about treating them for fleas. Apparently the adoption included a lifetime supply of flea meds. 🤷‍♀️ This same person became upset when I would not let them use the same vet the rescue uses as they wanted a discount. They have continued to message me trying to bully me and threaten me of all the things they are going to say about the rescue and how now (2 months later) his cat is sick and it MUST be my fault because he doesn’t have any other animals. How many people adopt animals from 2 years ago and call the rescue you adopted from and blame them for whatever has happened to your pet? I just can’t handle the entitlement anymore. These are rescue kittens. They have been rescued from a situation. We’re a non profit. The amount of time and energy we put into this isn’t worth it. Again, most everyone has been great. For you others though, those poor kitties need rescued again.

Animal Control is back to saving lives by harassing one rescue at a time! This time on how can we waste tax payer's dollars Clark County Animal Control I was fined while I was at work because my 3 dogs were outside in a FENCED YARD. The horror. Because Animal Control has harassed me on such a regular basis they know my work schedule and thought I left them unattended on a day that was predicted to be a high of 70 degrees. I know. It is amazing they are still alive. One thing officer I Care About Animals didn't think about is that I have a husband who works from home as well as a child who is home for the summer who watches our animals at all times. Did they knock on the door and talk to anyone? Nope. They left a ticket of $1500 on the door like the spineless cowards they are. When confronted they told me that I could go to court and fight it.

Did you know that most cities have Animal Controls that actually take in animals and take care of them? Not this one. This one pays the Humane Society to take care of their animals and acts like they "rescued" them. This animal doesn't control animals. They don't help out the public by getting animals spayed and neutered. They don't even go after the neighbor that is abusing animals. No, they go after rescues because what? Are they afraid they are going to put them out of business? I spent years in Texas working with animal control and I have never seen the corruption that I have here. I was told that they recently cleaned house with animal control because of issues with this, but it needs to happen again. When I questioned how I could be fined for this when "someone" filed a complaint that my dogs are outside all day when they know different from several harassing searches, they said a statement is a statement.

I started this rescue to help animals, but my god, we can't afford to keep paying for the harassment that this county keeps doing to us. They are harassing us because our adoption fees are low and it is hurting the adoption fees with the humane society. This is bullying and harassment and we are tired. I was given a cat this weekend because it and its littermates were dumped all over Woodland. It was dumped because the Humane Society CHARGES to take unwanted pets. They didn't have many options so they were dumped. Animal Control didn't do anything like normal. They must have been too busy harassing another rescue. So this kitten was mauled. I was able to provide it some care before I was able to get another rescue involved. I couldn't take it to the vet because I have a $1500 ticket to pay and their constant micromanaging over my vet caused me to need a new vet. So when people want answers from the person who dumped these kittens, lets look at the real culprit. The people who cause the problems...Animal Control. Lets start demanding some action and accountability from them.

If you can please help Furry Friends with some of the medical bills that our amazing animal control helped contribute to. I am sure animal control will be some of the first to donate as well since they have so much money to pay the Humane Society to wipe away their problems.

Remember the kittens we got from horseshoe lake dumped and we were still searching for the sibling? Well he was found and is now in our care! Unfortunately he was attacked by another animal and is currently in surgery to get his eye removed. He also has a hernia and a massive infection. He is in the loving skilled hands of Dr. Reading from Horizon Veterinary Care. If you would like to donate to his surgery and recovery it would be greatly appreciated! We have named him Chip ❤️

Update: Chips injuries are more severe than initially thought and he will be transferred to Pacific Northwest Pet ER & Specialty. Wish this little guy luck!!

Update #2: whatever attacked him ripped open his abdominal wall and also destroyed his eye. His kidneys are not doing well and are showing he may have ate some poison. His prognosis is guarded but we are going to try to save this baby. His bill will be a few thousand just from today so if you can donate at all please help chip! 🙏

Also PSA stop dumping your animals!!!!!

Tonight I was contacted by Clark County Animal Control because someone complained that I posted pictures on FB of my daughter holding kittens by the river. Because the city of La Center doesn’t allow residents to have UNOWNED animals we must be in violation. It never occurred to them that we were just taking photos in another city to help fosters get their kittens adopted. Despite the fact that they have done numerous checks in our house and found no issues we continue to be harassed. I was told that they have the right to come and search my house EVERY SINGLE DAY. With all this attention it makes me wonder why more people don’t start a rescue and try to help animals in the community? The officer stated that other officers had been watching my page and even had someone reach out to me to try and adopt to see if I would try to adopt a kitten from La Center. I never realized that a 9 year old holding kittens could cause such a rescue sting. Since they didn’t like pictures with my daughter I have found more pictures for their viewing pleasure so that they can have something else to look at. Every day I’m going to post kitty p**n for those that have nothing better to do than try and take down a rescue. So enjoy. Please note, none of these kittens are up for adoption because even if I had them, animal control wouldn’t allow me to adopt them out.

We just wanted to give a brief update as to what has been going on the past few weeks and why we have been a little silent. First of all, let me introduce a new member of our team. Stephanie Carpenter has worked with me for quite a few years now down in Texas rescuing kittens. We met when I was working with fosters and she was with another rescue. Now the roles have changed and she is in charge of fosters. She is very well known down there and will be a huge asset to us. We had to take some time away from rescue during the busiest time of the year because we were harassed by individuals that were not happy that we separated ties with them. Because of that the rescue and my family were harassed on a regular basis, until city officials asked us to take out protection orders against them to protect ourselves as well as to help stop wasting their time. This has caused us to make some great allies as well as learn about some of the laws in our town. In doing so, we now know why so many animals are dumped, abandoned at the shelter and later euthanized in our area. La Center has a code that states that you can't have any unowned animals in your residence. What this means is that if you want to foster kittens or a dog for a rescue, you cannot. I as a bottle feeder can not take on any animal that needs to be nursed because it isn't owned. It is illegal for me to bring it into my house because I live in La Center and the city would rather it die. Pretty great law right? Sounds humane. I will be presenting in front of the city council how archaic this law is and detrimental it is to the public and to animals in our community. Animals need to be able to have a safe haven as they wait to find homes and the fact that La Center doesn't allow for it, nor provide alternatives is absolutely unacceptable. As a rescue we should be able to help animals, not turn them away because the city officials thought they knew what was best for the community a hundred years ago. Times have changed as well as situations.

Because of this and what my family has endured we are going to a foster based rescue only. This means that we can only take in kittens based on the amount of fosters we have. The more fosters we have, the more kittens we can take in. If you are interested in fostering please email us and we will get you an application and a foster contract. All fosters will be provided with supplies as needed and will be expected to take kittens to all vet appointments when needed. Meet and greets will be conducted in public locations and adoptions will occur at the Woodland Farmer's Market where we have a table. To protect fosters from going through what we went through no visits will be allowed at any location and foster identities will be protected.

Although The Crazy Kitten Ladies Kitten Rescue is designed to help families and kittens in the Pacific North West, its business hub location will now be out of San Diego, CA. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out as this page is now ran by volunteers for the rescue that are located all over the United States.

If you see kittens posted that you are interested in on this page or our website please send us an email with the kitten's name so we can identify which foster the kitten has been placed with and help set up a meet and greet.

As always, spay and neuter your pets

I often keep in contact with my adopters through text or we run into each other at the store. I still hear from some of my adopters from back at Texas. Adopters are the absolute best form of advertising because their happiness shows what we’re doing works. I met this family earlier this year. We worked hard to find the perfect family member that would fit in with their family. I think we nailed it. Lily and Skye are two peas in a pod. 😍

As seasons change, so do our needs. We are taking in an unusual amount of kittens. We are also asking more and more people to foster to help alleviate the number in our space. There are a few things that we are going to be in the need of because of the multiple households they will be at. Also, flea season (is that a thing) can be a miserable time so we want to make sure we have that under control. Below is a list of things in our wishlist that we are in the most need of. Things that we are constantly in need of are syringes, nutrical, needles, and food. That need is always present.

We took in these 8 cuties yesterday after a community member asked us to help out. We are vaccinating them, deworming and treating them for fleas. It’s getting to be that time a year where fleas are becoming an issue. We give our kittens capstar/capaction before they can mingle with other animals. This is something that is a constant need for us. You can find it on our wishlist on Amazon. They will be up for adoption soon.

Kitten season is here. I cannot stress enough how important it is to keep kittens with their moms until they can be weaned. I’m an experienced bottle feeder and I’m still not near as good as a momma cat. Please, if you find neonatal kittens, just leave them there and assess the area. It is highly likely momma will be back. Don’t be a kitten snatcher. If you have watched the area for 24-48 hours and you have not seen the mom and the kittens are in distress DO NOT attempt to bottle feed yourself. This is how kittens aspirate. Contact a rescue, a veterinarian, your local shelter and ask where you can bring them. There are plenty of experienced bottle feeders around that can help out if only for a night. I know it looks easy to do it on YouTube and by watching other videos but a kitten that was just born is not the one to try on. They will likely die. Reach out to a rescue no matter if you know they are full or not. More times than not they will make room or find a spot for you in another rescue. Thank you for looking out for these teeny tinies. It’s important that no matter how small we give them the best life we can for the time we have them. If you see something, say something. Always reach out when you have questions and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

We took in 8 kittens today. These 3 were taken in after we were asked to help out a situation where the mom cat was killed. The other 5 we vaccinated and dewormed today and will help get the parents spayed/neutered so we don’t have any repeat litters.

In other news, we took in 5 more newborns yesterday if anyone is keeping count. We certainly aren’t.

We have more kittens!!! We took some in this weekend and Doodle the Tortie decided to start contributing to the population this morning. It’s KittensR’Us over here. We have a couple of 5-6 month old kittens that are super sweet that we need to find homes for asap. If you know anyone please let me know and I can get them fixed right away. Both have marble color patterns. One has white socks. We also have a long hair tuxedo female. The sooner we get them placed the easier it is to spread out these moms and their litters. We of course are always in need of wet food. We have 3 litters that are just finishing up nursing and will be transitioning to wet food. We have 2 litters that don’t even have their eyes open yet, and two more litters on the way! Kitten season is here.

You never know which one you will end up adopting. 😊

Kitten update:
They made it through the night. I was able to bottle feed but need to switch to tube feed to make sure they are receiving enough. I had to give them fluids at 4am because they looked like tiny raisins. The incubator is a struggle. They are too hot or too cold. They are so fragile there is no happy medium. I’ve been consulting with vets through the night and in the morning. Prognosis doesn’t look good. We will keep trying everything we can. I’m at the vet now with 5 other kittens as they take the no more kitten pledge. I will update later as I have another litter of 5 coming in. 😫

Please share, post, help. These guys were just brought to me. The mother won’t accept them. They are very premature. If you have been following us at all you know that we have several litters right now that we’re just born. We also have more on the way. Kitten season is here and these kittens right here are going to need a miracle. I’m also running out of room for places to safely put litters so they can be contained until they can be vaccinated.

As we take in more litters we are always happy to explore more opportunities. Today we had two litters of kittens work with Wisdom Panel. Their pictures will be used in the future in conjunction with Wisdom Panel. Next time you see their stuff look and see if you spot any of our kittens. :)

Our kittens are also going to be doing the DNA testing to do a background as to what type of kitten they descend from. Pretty cool huh?

I think *hopes* Cleo is finished. She gave birth to 7 kittens. 1 wasn’t quite ready for this world it would seem. It has been a long night for us all especially momma Cleo. At 4am she came and woke me up to tell me the news. We’ve been up since then and we’re both exhausted. Personally, I’m starving. She is too tired to continue to push so we’re trying to do this together. Currently she has had 7 kittens. 1 was stillborn. She is still in labor and I can feel more inside of her. I feel like this is going to go on for awhile. If you are asking yourself how you can help, there are a few things you can do. We have 4 more cats that are about to deliver and we already have one that is now eating wet food. Our house is full. We are in desperate need of trying to create some space in our house by making our backyard safer with a catio for our bigger cats. The more that can safely be out there the more room we have inside. We are also trying to make our garage more kitten friendly. This means setting up catios for them in there so when we have litters we can put a litter in a designated area for them to safely be together and safely play, while we can make sure they stay warm and protected against the elements. Food is always a big one us. I’m attaching a link you can buy from Walmart that is a great food for the mom cats and kittens that is pretty cost affordable. I’ve also put our address down in case you have any questions about where to send anything. Finally, we have taken in quite a few medical kittens, or ones that require vet attention. Just yesterday our vet bill was over 1100. I do now have an amazing place to get our spay/neutered done and they deeply discount for us because we are a non profit rescue. That being said they are still more than our adoption fees. For females it’s 90 and makes its $60. We hope that you understand that was are doing the best that we can so we can help families find affordable pets. If you feel like donating, please do so. You know what to do. If not, stick around for the cute photos that I will soon be posting.
