Another Bentley post! This boy has captivated us completely with his mellow and loving personality. Even when he does a random puppy antic, you can’t even get upset about it because he’s SO good and cute all the rest of the time. I will continue to shout about his temperament all day long. It is phenomenal! Just a little chocolate 🍫 teddy bear 🧸. I mean look at this face, how could you not want to just love on him? You may ask… why so many Bentley pictures? Because he’s always there🤣 always just chilling. His puppy energy is pretty much expended with one lap around the yard, I’ve had laid back puppies but this is a whole new level. He will be 5 months old in a couple days and is 22 lbs…. The boy does love his food 😆 He’s always up for an adventure, but only when it’s your idea haha!

Some impromptu pics of Pippa for the feed. I can’t wait for the smoke to clear up and be able to take good pics again (aside from the obvious reasons of wanting no fires and clean air).

Pending health testing at a later date Pippa will be a future mama for us. She is already genetically tested and clear, but as you probably know by now, we also do hips, elbows, cardiac, eyes (and patella on our minis).
Pippa is likely to mature around 30 lbs. Pippa has a super soft, silky, wavy coat.

Who remembers Ember’s little boy Benny? I was just thinking about how fun he was to raise and how he couldn’t take a bad picture!

My phone is full of his pictures from when we had him with us and the plentiful updates his human mama sends me! In fact I filled the carousel too quickly and ran out before I finished selecting my favorites 🥰

Benny’s mama is due to cycle any day and I can’t wait to see what his younger siblings will look like. Thank you to all my wonderful families that keep my cloud storage full of updates on our babies🥰🥰

Meet PIPPA!

Pippa will be a future momma for our program pending health testing. We already know she is genetically clear and will be a great addition! Pippa comes from Daphne’s lines and we are excited to expand our future and maintain our sweet Daphne girl in our future puppies.

✨Daphne✨

The matriarch of our program, the big boss.
Her temperament is top notch, she loves kids and loves big. She is my constant sidekick in the most non-annoying way. She is simply the best.

Daphne is calm inside but always ready to go play outside, a game of fetch, a game of water chase, she’s ready!

I hope everyone has a Daphne Wafney of some sort in their life🫶🫶

✨Yona✨

Yona is our little mini chocolate Goldendoodle. Chocolate and red are my FAVORITE so she was such a happy addition to our pack last year!

She is full grown at 18 lbs and stands 16 inches tall. She has a silky curly coat that is very soft. She is a future mama for us pending the rest of her health testing in August. She is already genetically clear and has normal eye certification, but still has Hips, elbows, cardiac and patella certification to go, she comes from good lines and has a sibling that has already passed so we expect the same from her!

She is very s***ky and fun but loves a good cuddle, especially from doodle dad. She was supposed to find a guardian home but doodle dad loved her personality too much and said no😆
She will likely be having puppies at the very end of 2024 or very beginning of 2025 depending on heat cycles.

It’s been a bit since we have posted about our little mama Ember! She’s a miniature Goldendoodle coming in at 23lbs and 17 inches. She is a happy tap dancer! Loves people and lives life with enthusiasm but also sleeps most of the day😂

I actually get asked when we go out if she’s still a puppy because of her cute face, and they are always surprised to learn how old she is! Little cutie patootie🥰

We have had Bentley for 3 weeks now and he is doing so well!

Bentley is a future papa for us pending the completion of his health testing when older. We have already genetic tested him and he is clear. 🎉

Genetics is only one part for us. Just like the rest of our dogs he will need to pass hips, elbows, heart and eye screening before officially becoming a papa.

Bentley has been here a week and things are going well! Some things have been a learning curve for him (as one would expect!) but he’s adjusting very well. Normally we do naps in the crate but he’s already had a very structured schedule today and this was his choice for his “free time” if you will. A bond is being created here and it’s lovely 🥰

His genetic testing was delivered today so that should start processing soon but it’s often weeks for results on this panel, so we will wait patiently, or not😅

I’m so happy to be able to introduce you to our newest addition ✨Bentley Brown✨

Bentley is an F1b Wavy chocolate medium Goldendoodle. He’s what our dreams have been made of.

As a breeder, there are so many things to focus on. Health, temperament, structure, coat quality and color ( I would love to say color doesn’t matter but let’s be honest, our heart is tugged at through eyes first)

From the very beginning and choosing Daphne as our first female, the goal has been to produce red and chocolate puppies. Chocolate is hard, and I love love love it! It’s been incredibly hard to find a health tested chocolate sire, in the right size, with the right temperament, with the genetics we would want to use within a drivable distance . So goals shifted to bringing one into our pack instead. With the completion of his testing, Bentley will help with a goal started in 2021 and to be realized in 2025. As a breeder you have to look and plan years down the road making the best decisions you can, as you go.

Thank you for hanging onto him longer while we waited for his testing results and making sure he was perfect for us!

You can’t see it too well at this angle, but Bentley is wearing his inspired collar, with many more to come!

Planned pairing announcement!

Bingo is due to cycle in July/August and will be bred for smaller medium Goldendoodles in reds and apricots with varied white.
All with the very desirable soft wavy coat.

Her list is fully reserved until confirmation of more puppies than reservations. We are accepting back up reservations however.

What are the two things I recommend for training your puppy, teaching boundaries and having structure?

A crate and a leash!

I know, I know. It can sound “mean” or “unnecessary”. But it’s not!

When I am training a puppy to live in my home and before puppies leave my home we utilize crates. We teach that crates are safe, they are comfortable.

I cycle a puppy through naps, potty and play on a schedule. This helps them potty train more quickly and helps them to get the rest they need and the time apart not being messed with (especially if there are young kids in the house that are learning to respect dog boundaries).

Puppies, like babies and toddlers, need sleep and structure and when they don’t get it….look out! When they get amped up, after having some time to get energy out, it’s a sign they need a nap. When we are eating dinner? Nap. Even our adult dogs sleep so much.

When they are up and out they are under strict supervision. Sometimes that’s loose in the house with me watching, and sometimes that’s them on a leash tethered to me.

What does tethering to me teach them? That it is ok to be “loose” and still calm, to rest when I “rest”. What does this translate to in adulthood? Dogs that sleep at my feet wherever I go🤣

I know it sounds simple, but a crate is a safe space and often under utilized. Eventually they will likely outgrow the need for consistent daily crating, or, it will be the safe space where they go when they choose to take their own “timeout”.

We love our dogs so much and want them to feel calm, safe, and balanced in our care.

Do you see this baby Daphne? Do you want to know a secret?

Months 5-11 were hard! She was a sniffing-in-her-own-world rambunctious mud digging MACHINE! She would just as soon pretend she didn’t hear you calling her inside, in favor of getting super dirty, And engaging in a game of catch-me-if-you-can.
She grew a lot months 4-8 and didn’t know her size. With a then 2-3 year old it was constant watching and training.
I didn’t feel like we “clicked”.

But guess what, we came out the other side. She is now one of the best dogs you could ask for. She loves big, she’s a great mom, raising my babies and hers and giving them great dispositions. I cannot imagine my days without her.
Puppy blues can be a real thing, but with perseverance and training you can come out the other side.

Yes I’m feeling sappy, watching the way she was with our kids on the beach, always keeping tabs on where each one was and running with them wherever they explored. She is a true gem and to think there was a time when I wasn’t head over heels for her just goes to show how challenging it can be to raise a good dog.

If you are in that time with your puppy, don’t give up!🫶

Even though there is no “puppy pick day” for Benny as he has already been matched from before birth, we still did his evaluation.

This helps to see his foundation, his inclination, and gives insight to his personality.

We are getting him ready to leave our home to the eager, warm arms that await him. This has been a very enjoyable and special match for me and I have no doubt that he will be cared for in the best of ways🩷

I’m sorry but I just couldn’t choose the best few this week! Benny has come to be my easiest puppy to photograph and I just can’t help loving them all.

Benny turned 7 weeks old yesterday! He’s weighing in at 6lbs which is actually quite large for his projected size… but since he’s stopped nursing 24/7, started walking and playing and is now weaned, he has slowed significantly in his gaining. He had been gaining well over a lb each week!

His personality is really shining this week. He is s***ky and loves to play! He’s going to have so much fun with his canine sister waiting for him🥰

Benny has had a family waiting for him well before he was born. We will hopefully be doing a repeat litter in the spring and cannot wait for more like him!

Little Yona is over 4 months old. Last check a couple of days ago she was 12 lbs. and tracking to be 20-22 full grown. She was supposed to go to a guardian home but the doodle dad here feels connected to her and as of yet has not had me put any effort into finding one😉

She has also come in very handy in helping socialize out singleton pup Benny!

Benny is 6 weeks old!

Actually we are late with pictures… I prefer natural lighting and we’ve had dense fog. So we just went with darkness and edits at this point.

But back to Benny! He is a little fuzzy ball of s***k and he’s so fun to watch. So far he exhibits no fear, and allows me to sweater him up no problem🤣

Today Benny had fun with some jets 🛩️

Benny goes home to his eager family in less than 2 weeks. We will do a repeat breeding in spring so be on the lookout for more adorableness like him!

It’s time to celebrate!

The one area where we have struggled, is weaning from mom onto food. Generally the process starts naturally between 3-4 weeks. But without peer examples and a having a full milk bar to himself, Benny has been very resistant. With a mouthful of teeth, mom has been very much trying to convince him that he’s a big boy who’s ready to graduate (as is natural and she indulged longer than many).
Last night Benny decided he’s ready for his dry food! He’s on his way! We only have him for 2 more weeks and now he can say he goes 100% on his potty spot AND eats big boy food.

Tomorrow he gets another full bath, blow dry and eye trim. Even though he stays very clean, he still needs that desensitization as grooming will be needed for his whole life.
His pink mustache will also fade away as he’s off milk.

Side note, I’ve never had a puppy nurse SO MUCH that it turned their muzzle pink🤣 he was definitely over indulging.
