Please keep in mind I no longer travel to the Georgia, North Carolina or Clemson area to trim. I do not exceed a 3hr drive time. Unfortunately, I had a woman reach out to me about trimming goats 2 hours away in hardeesvile, sc A few days ago and I squeezed her in being kind. I don’t mind traveling for people and will do just about anything if I can within reason. Today unfortunately I had my first scam we drove two hours to be disappointed as no one would answer the door and there were no goats to trim im extremely devastated that people still do this. So unfortunately after today I will no longer take NEW trims that are long distance without a deposit first. If I have been out to you and you’ve been kind I’ll stick to our original agreements. Side note we believe this was a trafficking event & thankfully I wasn’t alone!

It’s come to my realization that people are now doing “goatscaping” as a way to rent out goats to clean up brush and small yards. I support small business but I want all of my goat lovers to be aware that there are poisonous plants for goats! This may not show up right away when goats have gotten ahold of these plants but some will cause long term effects in the rumens of goats or worse. please be aware. I have attached a list below from the goat journal for reference. Also the Clemson agricultural extension office can help if anyone has more in depth questions on these plants. They also will take your goat for analysis after it passes to tell you exactly why your goat may have passed. I hope y’all have a wonderful Father’s Day weekend ❤️

I had the best day today. I had the honor to go to cross anchor Sc, to trim for the Barrett farm. It was beautiful. I had the wonderful pleasure of meeting the nicest livestock vet and even got to watch him dart so that I could trim. Today was a real blast, I really do live for this and love the way that I get to care for livestock. Thank you so much to the Barrett’s for having me out to trim their mini zebu it was a real honor. I haven’t been able to post lately but, Tuesday I got to trim the sweetest babies at Lily Grace Farms Petting Zoo, Party Venue, and Party Bus Service she even got two new beautiful dappled additions to add to their herd while I was there and I got to trim them as well. It’s always a pleasure to be out trimming for them. If you haven’t already go check them out on their FB and see all their events they having coming up you won’t be disappointed! 😊

Good Thursday morning everyone,
I have some sheep facts to start your day
1) did you know sheep hooves are made from Keratin?
2) sheep’s are split cloven toe animals
3) nutrition is a big factor in hoof health
4) sheep are also ruminates
5) foot rot is the leading disease in sheep for bad hoof health.
6) sheep can get foot and mouth disease
7) Scald in sheep feet is the second leading hoof disease sheep could get.
8) there are over 1000 of distinct sheep breeds worldwide.
9)sheep have a wonderful sense of smell.
10) sheep do not have teeth in their upper front jaw, instead the lower teeth press up against a hard palate to breakdown food.
