With the help of a donated
enclosure, another little family (Mom+3) are safe from a high-kill shelter. Y'all, this never gets easier.
When you donate local, you save lives; You see your donations put to the best use. "S-513-23" and her 3 boys came in 9/25, when the kids were only 4 days old.
We appreciate every like, every share, every virtual hug and high-five. We all work full-time jobs, but saving these lives is our purpose.
We thank you all for following our journey. ❤️

Whew, this is the fastest moving cat ever... And I thought Nacho was hard to photograph! Anyone know what breed it could be? :D
All lives matter here at Feral Friends, so when an 8 year old goldfish named Candy Apple (was a carnival prize), needed rehoming due to the new apartment not allowing aquariums over 5 gallons - We answered the call!

Sweet, sweet Attis! He's the attention seeker of the babies for sure. This baby loves a good snuggle.
Mama Athena's true feral nature is coming to light. She attacked my hand tonight as I was attempting to feed her. It isn't her fault the world has been unkind to her. She's probably never known a loving touch, or steady food that she didn't have to steal. I had high hopes that she would be open to rehabilitation, but sadly she's is past the turning around age. Her kids are eating more kitten food than nursing, so we'll put a TNR plan in place for her soon.
Also shown are Atlas and Apollo, two more of Athena's absolutely adorable littles.

Ms. Anderson and the A kittens have been renamed! (Mama) Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Atlas, and the little gray one is Attis. Mom is starting to come out of her shell, ever so slightly, and allows head pets. Okay, two pets. You get exactly 2 pets that last around 10 seconds total. 🤣 It's a start! I take every tiny win that comes my way these days. ❤️

A late update, and exciting news!
Nacho is still Nacho'ing...
The Orange Crew continues to get bigger and more adorable every day.
And thanks to the quick action of a rescue partner, we were able to save a feral Mom and 4 kids on their last hold day (pictures soon!)

Sunday Fun Day update…

Whew! It has been busy, busy. Between work chaos, our budget house remodel, and life in general I really have slacked on updating the page here. I hope everyone had a great holiday!

It’s raining orange; There’s a few new faces here at FFNC! We have The Orange Crew (Pumelo, Cara Cara, Citron, and Valencia). These babies were found abandoned in a yard by someone who wasn’t able to care for them but knew they’d never make it in their own.

Then there’s little Nacho, who was sitting patiently beside a very busy highway in Wake Forest! Luckily he was friendly, and hungry!

There’s also the feral colonies we help care for, who will need updated Winterizing supplies for the upcoming cold months. Any and all donations are appreciated to help us with these expenses, as well as feeding and vetting all these littles. ❤️

Please welcome Church and Dumpy! Only a couple of days old, Mom decided a pile of tires would be a great hiding place; Until the torrential rains came. RIP to the 3 who were too late to be saved, but these littles are safe, warm, and fed. ❤️

A couple of exciting updates; We now have a garden area and our first (temp) resident! The portly Midnite was abandoned when her person moved out and left her locked inside the house. She’s super sweet, and we couldn’t let this gorgeous panther be all alone!

Yesterday was blissful chaos, as we continue to get the kitty cottage ready for move-in day! We installed an entry ramp and made flower beds to plant organic catnip and wildflowers in. Cat wall shelves have been ordered, and will be installed soon!

Who’s ready for some amazing news?!

The cats will now have their very own home! 🙀

In March, I spoke with a tiny home/ shed builder about giving the kitties their own customized space; And it’s here!

The kitties’ future home is a 10x20 “Cottage“ model from Sheds Direct Inc complete with power connections and easy to maintain vinyl flooring . This thing is beautiful and SOLID!

This makes me so happy, because the ferals will be able to have outside time (thanks to a donated 10x10 wire kennel with roof) while the others can lounge around on their choice of furniture inside!

I’m still customizing the interior, so stay tuned for updates as I get things ready for them. I’ve dropped a couple of initial interior pictures below.

This feral young cat (gender uncertain) was trapped at one of our managed colonies in Zebulon. I know we are all still drowning in felines, but it’s worth a shot to ask. Can anyone offer a safe barn/ porch home?
The ‘easy’ answer would be to spay/neuter and return to the colony location, but this business won’t allow us to put any sort of structure/home for the feral cats that “live” there.

Rescue doesn’t take days of! In the midst of working to save Thin Mint, these tiny feral firecrackers were snatched up (literally) while they were snoozing on the porch at an ongoing TNR location. Apple, Onion Ring, and Chicken Nugget - Welcome to FFNC. These guys are NOT available for adoption through me purrsonally. They are fosters. 🙂 Here for a good time, but the goal is goodbye! ❤️

Friends, there are no happy updates today. Sadly, Thin Mint lost his battle early yesterday morning. I apologize for the late notice, but it has taken some time to process this immeasurable loss. He was so starved that round the clock care and love the depth of oceans just was not enough. Starvation quickly leads to organ failure, which I suspect had already taken a great hold on him when I found him.

Hold your furbabies a little longer today, give them each an extra treat or two.

As you run to the Rainbow Bridge on legs that were barely able to move on this Earth, though our time together was not nearly enough; Know that you were loved, and will be forever remembered and missed. 💔

Day 4 and I AM WALKING! ❤️ I had my first solid food yesterday when I waa offered some popcorn shrimp without breading. I meowed, begging for a taste and ate 5 of those delicious shrimpies. Everyone is so proud of me. My finder has named me Thin Mint because well, I’m thin and sweet. 😊

It’s been an amazing day for this guy I call Thin Mint. We have p*e! For a cat this dehydrated, that’s a reason for celebration 🎉 We have p**p too, but it’s pretty much the same color and consistency as the squeeze-up treats and Nutrical mix he’s eating via syringe every few hours.
BUT
He’s standing, drinking water on his own, and getting up to potty rather than going where he’s laying. Huge milestones that I’m so proud of! ❤️

Please excuse the clutter behind the playpen, I was gathering things for a yard sale before he came, lol

I made it through the night! This crazy lady kept waking me up to syringe feed me, but I have to admit that it was yummy! I’m very weak and really can’t move well under my own power, but I love being purrito’d ( even though I don’t purr) and being warm. I’m fighting for my life but this crazy purple-haired lady tells me not to give up and that we will fight together ❤️ I need a name; A strong warrior name. Can you help with suggestions?

When one door closes, another opens! Sweet Lili went to her forever home today. This opening came just in time, as a new kitten appeared at a managed feral colony, likely dumped. He/She is social but very afraid.

We’ll get her lovey, vetted, and adopted out when she’s ready. ❤️

Several new faces have joined us here this week!

Ghost Keeper came in with a very ulcerated eye, which required eyelid flap surgery, and he needed to be neutered. His vet bill is $224 and he will need a re-check in 3 weeks if anyone would like to donate towards his care.

Baby Gizzy weighs just over 200 grams at 4.5 weeks old. She’s making great progress and is getting a little bigger and stronger each day! She hopes people will donate kitten milk replacer, soft blankets, puppy pads, and toys! She will also need vetting expenses in the future.

Two tabbies and 2 gingers came in from being abandoned after someone moved out of a house. They would love donations of pate wet food, dry kitten food, and money towards future vetting expenses.

Lots of kitties have joined the Feral Friends family this week! ❤️

Ghost Keeper came in with a very inflamed eye, and required eyelid flap surgery and neutering. (Adoption Pending) ❤️

Tiny baby Gizzy weighs 200 grams at 4.5 weeks old and is a growing, thriving itty bitty who loves her kitten milk and giving cuddles.

Two gingers and 2 tabbies also came in from being abandoned. Growing babies, they go through a lot of wet food and kitten milk.

If anyone would like to help with supplies for these babies; We are most in need of any brand Pate wet food, dry kitten food, and $ to assist with vetting expenses.
