This is Rocket 🚀

He is a 2 year old neutered male at a shelter in St. Louis Missouri. Rocket was owner surrendered due to landlord issues and has been very anxious / stressed in the shelter environment. He finally has started coming out of his shell and was adopted last weekend but did not want to get in the car with the man who wanted to adopt him. Rocket could really benefit from being in a home with someone who could work with him and help him build some confidence.

Rocket has not been formally dog tested but has done well with other dogs while on a pack walk and through fences in play yards.

Hondo is a 9 month old German Shepherd who was owner surrendered to a shelter this past Monday. He was displaying dog reactivity in the shelter environment which quickly made him at risk. I spent every free moment of my week trying to find someone to take him and thankfully was successful! Today I drove to Indiana and met with a lovely human who will be driving him the rest of the way to his new home with a wonderful trainer in Ohio. This boy is off to do big things and I’m so grateful for the amazing people in the dog community for stepping up to help save him. Thank you everyone who helped share his story on social media 🫶🏼

Update: A trainer in OH is going to take Hondo! He just needs a ride there. So if anyone is willing to assist with transport this boy will be ready to go tomorrow after his neuter 🙌🏼

This is Hondo, an 8 month old GSD

He was owner surrendered to the shelter this week and needs a rescue or foster with breed experience to take him on. He is great with humans but is displaying dog reactivity in the shelter environment. His previous owner said he is great with other dogs and has been boarded previously with no issues. A shelter is NOT the right environment to be trying to work through dog reactivity.

If anyone knows of any breed specific rescues currently taking intakes please reach out!

For those of you who find a wild animal that needs help - we're here. Don't take it upon yourself - we're here for you. Don't keep it as a pet - we're here. They need special care - we're here.

It didn’t have to end this way. Maybe you thought the drive was too far. That it wasn’t worth it. That she was too sick. That you could just do it yourself. That no one would care enough to help you.

The formula we made just for her will sit untouched. The fluids we were planning to give her won’t get a chance to be administered. The softest blankets we picked out to comfort her were put back on the shelf. Maybe she wouldn’t have made it either way; but better here with a warm bed, a full stomach, and a quiet space to pass, than alone, hungry, terrified, and in pain where she was dropped off and left behind. We raced and hoped to get to her in time, but it was too late.

We’re here every day: birthdays, holidays, wind, rain, or shine…..we’re here, and we’re ready for them, in any condition, to give what comfort and rest we can.

If anyone is looking for a fully trained diabetic alert dog ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Applications are open for this little Diabetic Alert Dog! Birdi has been in training with me for over 1.5 years and is ready to find her forever human (who has type 1 diabetes...I have had lots of offers from those who don't have diabetes 😉 )

This little spaniel would be considered my heart dog - partly because I adore her, and partly because she gives you her whole heart whether she's alerting, playing fetch, or cuddling. She doesn't know how to do anything half way.

As a Diabetic Alert Dog, she alerts to blood sugars of 80mg/dL and below with a nose nudge, and will learn highs at a threshold that her person wants (typically 180 and above, but can be customized). Birdi also is fully public access trained and ready to accompany her person as their Service Dog anywhere they go.

She's AKC registered English Cocker Spaniel from impeccable field lines and a wonderful breeder, has an AKC title and almost 2 more titles, and is fully health tested.
