🟢 Plain mashed sweet potato (no butter, marshmallows, or spices)
🟢 Plain pumpkin purée (NOT pie filling)
🟢 Green beans (fresh or frozen, no casseroles)
🟢 Plain carrots
🟢 Apples without seeds or core
🟢 Plain cooked rice
🟢 Small amounts of plain bread (no dough, no mix-ins)
⸻
❌ Dangerous “NO” Foods — Avoid Completely
🔴 Alcohol
🔴 Caffeinated beverages
🔴 Dairy (including eggnog)
🔴 Turkey skin, bones, or drippings
🔴 Stuffing & casseroles (onions, garlic, fat, seasonings)
🔴 Nutmeg
🔴 Yeast dough
🔴 Chocolate & candy
🔴 Mashed potatoes with butter/cream, gravy, or anything heavily seasoned
🔴 Grapes & raisins
🔴 Onions, garlic, leeks, chives
🔴 Cranberry sauce (too much sugar)
🔴 Pies (apple, pumpkin, sweet potato — fillings and spices are risky)
🔴 Fruit with pits (peaches, plums, cherries, etc.)
🔴 Macadamia nuts & most mixed nuts
🔴 Wild mushrooms
🔴 Cornbread (often contains butter, fat, sugar, or onion mix-ins)
🔴 Salty snacks
If it’s seasoned, sugary, creamy, buttery, or belongs in a casserole, your dog doesn’t need it!
Happy Thanksgiving and keep those pups safe! 🦃 🐶🧡
