These hurricane babies are the only animals I'm really concerned about. Everything else I took off feed last week in case of power loss.

These have very fast metabolisms and need to eat every day - already pounding drosophila.

Thinking that being near NASA, AFTAC, Patrick SF Base and (perhaps most importantly) an Amazon distribution center may help us out in terms of restoring electricity, but have heat packs just in case.

Almost all the way out. It'll stay in the incubator til tomorrow by which time the others should be showing some action. Another female looks about ready to burst.

I will hopefully be able to offer a VERY limited number of pairs of these when shipping opens in early spring 🤞

Little almost-yearling female primordius starting to mess around with digging nests. This may ultimately lead to nothing, but at least the substrate seems right. Is currently housed as part of a 1.2 (someone needs to try it).

First three pics are my founder wilmsi female, CB 2020 by Bion. Next three pics are a WC female I picked up this year.

The founder female is huge compared to the WC female, and the same goes for the respective males (I can't even catch the WC male right now to do a comparison because he can get places my hands won't fit).

Furthermore, when I tried the new female with holdback males, they acted like she was a threat and showed no mating interest. There were also obvious morphological differences when side by side. So here's my question:

Is it possible I have batillifera sensu lato (wilmsi) and sensu stricto (batillifera)? They don't even look that similar other than pattern, and the size discrepancy is huge.

Impossibly precious eggs from one of the rarest agamids in the hobby.

A student took some of the savannah form zebras home for the summer and brought this one back knocked up. I've actually never been able to get this form to produce, but in the student's words, the male was "trying to get it" all summer. Looks like he got it.

I suck at videos, but had to document this. This is my 2023 holdback pair of Varanus primordius (George Clooney the Monitor Lizard and Jennifer Varaniston). He is helping her excavate a burrow/likely future nest. Shared parenting responsibilities in lizards. Wild stuff.

Not a project - just for fun. Big Horn Mountain, CA rosy boa from DC Rosy Boas.

My youngest really took an interest in the roughies this summer and has been handling and feeding them. And while he holds his own with a seven-foot, fast-moving python, we started researching something he could learn with without me having to be present. Had one myself as a child and had forgotten that these are one of the best snakes there is.

This little female has lots of red on her and loses pattern with each shed. May have accidentally triggered a cycle (not my intention to breed these in their first year) so furiously working on another enclosure that allows 14-18 inches of sandy loam throughout.

Pile of zebras from unrelated parents. Mom heavily pregnant again. Haven't posted anywhere, but will soon. Two spoken for, but the rest have personally told me that they love the idea of going as a wholesale lot.
