What exactly would a conservation easement do on the Long's Gardens property? Placing a conservation easement on the property means the land would remain in private ownership but with permanent restrictions so that it could never be subdivided or developed, thus protecting its agricultural hertigate in perpetuity for future generations.

The Long family has owned and operated the 25 acre Long Family Farm in central Boulder for over a century and is committed to preserving its agricultural heritage forever with the help of a conservation easement on the farm. The farm's educational programs teach the community about sustainable farming and nutrition education, and provide thousands of pounds of food donations for low income community members each year. Did you know that the Long Family Farm is a third generation farm that has been in the same family for over 100 years? Maintaining it has become increasingly difficult, due to the growing number of users and environmental threats. 2H would protect and preserve our Open Space for the next twenty years.
