ANIMAL WELFARE AND RIGHTS
INTRODUCTION
Whether at home, on the farm, or at the dinning table, animals play an important role in everyday life. My mission is to know what is Animal Welfare and Rights. Yet sometimes they are naughty, they serve as our companions, our source of livelihood, entertainment, inspiration and of course food and clothing. I had chosen a topic which is the "ANIMAL WELFARE AND RIGHTS" and I've spent hours studying it. Animal Welfare and Rights serves as the protection of all animals in this world.
PURPOSE
Defined purpose is highly recommended in order to succeed. The purpose of the RA No. 8485 , an act to promote animal welfare in the Philippines, otherwise known as "THE ANIMAL WELFARE ACT OF 1998" supervises and regulates the establishments and operations of all facilities utilized for breeding , maintaining, keeping, treating or training of all animals either as objects of trade or as household pets. This is also time consuming because we need time to search some information that suits in our topic but it is worth for your time. I put an effort to make this concept paper.
DESCRIPTION
The Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled 10 sections where each one of them has a designed purpose. Examples of these purpose is, no person, association, partnership, corporation, cooperative or any government agency or instrumentality including slaughter house shall establish, maintain and operate any pet shop, corral, stud farm or stock farm without first securing from the Bureau of Animal Industry a certificate of registration. The certificate shall be issued upon proof that the facilities of such establishments for animals are adequate, clean, and sanitary and will not be used for, nor cause pain or suffering to the animals. According to the Census of Agriculture, in 1997 there were 98,989,244 cattle and calves used in United States agriculture, 61,206,236 hogs and pigs, 7,821,885 sheep and lambs, and over 7 billion chickens used for egg and meat production.
